7th & 8th Grade Boys Basketball Results

Monday, 2/7 - Millington

The 7th grade A team started the game out a bit slow on defense and cold shooting, but going into halftime we took a one point lead. To start the second half the boys were locked in and went on a 24-6 run. The team came away with a win 55-38. Gavin Schmidt had 17 pts, 8 rebs, Wyatt Lauenstien had 14 pts, 4 rebs and Mason Lavigne had 7 pts. Way to keep battling fellas!

Last night the 8th grade Huskies were defeated by the Millington Cardinals. After a tough first half, Millington was able to win the turnover battle and pull away from Hemlock. Dylan Kowalski, Jack Ray, and Brennan Meyer led the way for the huskies on the defensive end. Next up is the Nouvel Panthers on Wednesday!

Wednesday, 2/9 - Nouvel

The 7th grade boys struggled both on offense and defense tonight against Nouvel in a tough loss. We had some good hustle, but definitely have things to work on the next few days to prepare for Ithaca on Monday. The team will keep working hard at practice to improve on the areas we need to. Go Huskies!!!

Last night the Eighth Grade Huskies defeated the Nouvel Panthers by a final score of 41-36. The Huskies battled for the entire game, fighting foul trouble and fatigue. Blake Lepla and Brennan Meyer led the way in scoring, combining for 25 points, with an additional 6 points from Nick Chasnis. Gabe Messing added double digit rebounds and the Huskies grabbed a hard fought win.

Monday Memories

The library is celebrating its 80th year! We will be sharing 'Monday Memories' each week to remember our past, celebrate the present, and share happenings for the future. Special events at the library are being planned too. The library actually began in 1895 as residents took turns housing the collection in their homes for everyone to use. Over the years families moved making the mobile library difficult to maintain and the decision was made to donate the books to the public school system. Through the work of Loleta Fyan, the first state librarian of Michigan who pushed for more libraries to be opened and the residents of Richland Township, your library was formally established in 1942.
