Student Spotlight
This week, Berea-Midpark High School students had the unique opportunity to take part in the Great Lakes Theater School Residency Program. For five days, professional actor-teachers worked side by side with our students, bringing classic plays to life in a way that was interactive, fun, and unforgettable. Instead of just reading the words on a page, students stepped into the story themselves, acting out scenes, using costumes and props, and collaborating with their peers to explore themes and characters.
Throughout the week, different grade levels and courses explored powerful works such as Macbeth, The Crucible, Romeo and Juliet, Fences, and Hamlet. Each day built on the last, moving from learning and rehearsal to student-led performances. The energy in the auditorium was contagious as students took risks, tried new roles, and discovered new confidence in their voices.
Students were able to see the power of theater as a tool for creativity, teamwork, and self-expression. We are grateful to Great Lakes Theater for helping our Titans connect with literature in such a memorable way.
Congratualtions to the Boys Golf Team on winning the SWC end of season tournament.

News From the Counselors
College and Career Updates:
Cleveland State held an instant decision day on September 22, where seniors applied and were given their admission decision on the spot. This year, 29 students were admitted. Seniors should be visiting colleges and should apply by November 1 to avoid missing any early deadlines. Remember that FAFSA opens October 1.
Most of the career field trips this fall are complete. We had 19 students attend the HBCU college fair and 3 students were admitted to colleges there, 12 students attended the Hopkins International Airport trip, and 17 participated at Southwest Hospital in the clinical careers field trip. There is still room for students to go to Southwest Hospital on October 8, to see many non-clinical careers including accounting, police, and infectious disease prevention. The final BW college visit is October 22 and there are a few openings. If a student wants to participate in one of these trips, they should email druebensaal@bereaschools.org. Please make sure the parent portal OLR update is completed so the student may attend trips.
Attention Students
The Counseling Office has setup numerous college visits here at the High School. Please check your Naviance account to sign up. See Ms. Kronika for any questions.
Important Financial Aid Reminder:
College-bound students should plan to complete their FAFSA as close to October 1 as possible, but not before. Financial Aid Night is at 6:30 on October 1, where Mrs. Spangler from College Now will go over financial aid and FAFSA. Dr. Ruebensaal will go over ways to save money and answer questions about the college application process.
Polaris College Fair
Polaris Career Center will be holding a college fair on October 7th from 6-7:30 pm. See the flyer below for details!
