Important District News
Important Reminder for our Student Drivers
Please take a moment to remind your student driver(s) about the importance of safe driving while arriving at and leaving school.
The school zone speed limit is 25 MPH during the following times:
Morning: 7:30 AM-8:30 AM
Afternoon: 2:30 PM-3:30 PM
Slowing down is not only about following the posted speed limit; during arrival and dismissal, there are students walking through the parking lot, getting into vehicles, boarding buses, and crossing areas where traffic is moving.
There is also increased stop-and-go traffic as parents and family members arrive to pick up and drop off students. Driving at a slower speed gives drivers more time to react to pedestrians, buses, vehicles stopping unexpectedly, and changing traffic patterns.
Please remind students to stay alert, put distractions away, be patient, and slow down while traveling through the school zone and parking areas.
