Anti-Bullying Newsletter
April 4th, 2025
Consultation with the school community: the partnership approach.
Each school is now required to develop and implement a Bí Cineálta policy that sets out how the school community prevents and addresses bullying behaviour. PJP will be engaging shortly with the school community to develop and review our new policy.
School Staff
Staff Training
The Principal and VP have attended the Bí Cinealta in-person professional learning in November 2024.
School half-day closure
PJP staff will avail of a half-day school closure on May 2nd 2025 to facilitate engagement of all school staff with these procedures. We will be focusing on bullying prevention and addressing bullying behaviour within the school. We will be examining what is working well and what we can improve on under the following headings:
1.Culture and Environment
2.Curriculum (Teaching and Learning)
3. Policy and Planning
4.Relationships and Partnerships
Parent Voice
The best way to include the parent community in our Bí Cineálta policy is to get feedback on our existing Anti-Bullying school policy. We have developed a parent survey for parents to complete. This is an important part of the Bí Cineálta policy development so we can identify what is working well and what we can improve.
The primary aim in addressing reports of bullying behaviour should be to stop the bullying behaviour and to restore, as far as practicable, the relationships and the parties involved.
We would be so grateful if you could take the time to complete this short survey. We will consider these responses when we are completing our new Bí Cineálta policy.
You can also email the VP directly if you feel you need to raise anything with her (vp@pjp.ie).
We kindly ask that you take five minutes to complete the survey below.

Student Voice
Student-friendly policy development
On Tuesday 18th March, the VP met with the Student Council to develop a student-friendly policy for September 2025. Some of the classes have already submitted their ideas to the VP and have designed policies already. You can see some of the designs within this newsletter. This is a mandatory requirement for the new procedures. This new policy will appear in every classroom in the school. The students' input is an integral part of the process. They can help us identify what is working well and if there are any new strategies that we need to implement.
On April 9th, the VP will also meet in Ms Hayden's room to work on the student-friendly policy. Our STEM Ambassadors will also attend the workshop. The VP will select the winning policy design.
