Hello Diamondback Family!

I hope this message finds you well! As we reflect on the past week, I am filled with pride for the incredible work being done by both our dedicated staff and our talented students. Their commitment to excellence and collaboration is truly inspiring. We had the biggest RISE Day ever here at Dessau on Thursday. This is evidence that our students are working hard and achieving academic and behavioral success!

Our teachers have gone above and beyond to create engaging lessons and support our students in their learning journeys. Meanwhile, our students continue to impress us with their enthusiasm, creativity, and resilience. Together, they are building a wonderful community of learners at Dessau Middle School.

Thank you for your ongoing support and partnership. Let’s celebrate these achievements and continue to encourage our young leaders as they strive for success!

Wishing you all a fantastic weekend ahead!

Together, WE are Dessau Proud, Dessau Strong, and Dessau RISING!

2025-26 Academic Calendar Survey 2025-26 Academic Calendar Survey

*DATE EXTENDED* The 2025-26 Academic Calendar Survey is available for feedback!

As we plan for the 2025-2026 school year, we value your input in shaping an academic calendar that meets the needs of our students, families, and staff. Pflugerville ISD strives to create a balanced and thoughtful calendar that supports high-quality instruction, considers family schedules, and accommodates important holidays and professional development for our educators.

The proposed calendar options were thoughtfully developed by the District Academic Advisory Council (DAAC), a group of parents, staff, and community members who work collaboratively to ensure the calendar reflects our district's diverse needs. Learn more about how the calendar is created and approved.

The DAAC presents two (2) 25-26 calendars, Draft 1 and Draft 2, for your consideration and feedback. Below are the two drafts and a side-by-side comparison of the two options. After reviewing the calendars, please take a few minutes to complete this survey and ensure your voice is considered.

Th survey deadline has been extended! The survey will remain open until Feb. 10, 2025.

Dessau Middle School Student Expectations Dessau Middle School Student Expectations

Parents can review the student expectations on the Dessau Middle School website. Once on the webpage, go to the " About Us" tab and scroll down to the "Campus Rules & Regulations". There, you can find our Dessau Middle School Student Expectations, Cell Phone Policy, requirements for student attendance of extracurricular events, and the student ID policy. The district dress code policy can be found here. We are currently in the process of getting all 6th grade and new students' IDs printed. Once students have their student ID badges, they will be required to wear them daily.

As we begin to have more events beginning after school, I want to remind all parents/guardians and students of the expectations we have in place for students to participate in and/or attend extracurricular events. We hold our Diamondbacks to high standards. In order to participate in extracurricular events weekly, (this includes playing in or attending games and attending after school recreational events) students should not have:

  • any referrals, detentions, or suspensions,
  • any tardies (unexcused)

If a students has any or all of the above stated circumstances during the week, they will not be allowed to participate in athletic games or attend the game as a spectator for that week. The reports are ran weekly, from one game day to the next. Please discuss the importance of positive conduct with your student. During grade level assemblies last week, we discussed theses expectations with all students. We do not want any of our students to miss out on opportunities. Coaches and activity sponsors will be notified of any athlete or student member that is on the list for disciplinary or tardy reasons.

Student will not be admitted into games or extracurricular activities without student IDs.

Student that are eligible to attend the game, MUST go home at the end of the school day. Students may not wait on campus for the games to begin. This leaves students without adult supervision for 2 hours. Any student remaining on campus to attend the game will be denied admission into the game. A parent/guardian will be called to pick the student up. Students must go home and may return to attend the game at 5:00 pm. All games generally begin at 5:30 pm. Backpacks must be left at home - backpacks are not allowed into games.
