Music Bingo - Thank you!
A big thank you to everyone who attended our Music Bingo Fundraiser last Friday night at the Community Centre. It was a fantastic evening, filled with fun, laughter, and—of course—plenty of music! The children looked like they had an amazing time, and judging by the smiles and laughter, it looked like the parents had just as much fun!
We are delighted to share that we raised a total profit of €2,195, which will go towards our fundraising drive for a new PE hall. Thank you all for your generosity and support!
A special thank you to the Community Centre for generously allowing us to use the venue and to all the local businesses who kindly donated bingo and raffle prizes—your support made a huge difference! (See the poster below for a list of these wonderful sponsors.)
We also really appreciate the Parents’ Association for helping out on the night—it was wonderful to have extra hands to ensure everything ran smoothly.
Finally, a sincere thank you to our Fourth Class teacher, Ms. Mollison, for her dedication in coordinating this event and making it such a success.
We hope everyone’s ears have made a full recovery!
Parking
Please be mindful of where you are parking when dropping and collecting your child, please do not park up on our neighbours grass or in front of their entrance gates.
In the interest of being able to maximise the amount of collection points at the school for drop off and collection, we would kindly ask that you minimise large gaps when parking in front of or behind other cars as we have limited space available for collection and drop off.

Inclusion Week at Dangan
This week at Dangan NS, we are celebrating Inclusion Week—a time to reflect on the importance of fostering a school environment where every child feels valued, respected, and included. As April marks Autism Awareness Month, we are especially mindful of the need to promote understanding and appreciation of the diverse strengths and needs of all our pupils.
Inclusion is more than just sharing the same space; it is about creating a culture where every child feels seen, supported, and respected. To support this, every class will be focusing on a different theme for each day, along with activities to try throughout the day and a focus for our morning circle discussions.
-
Monday – In a world where you can be anything, Be Kind!
-
Tuesday – The Importance of Inclusion
-
Wednesday: Autism Acceptance Day
- Thursday – Celebrating Different Cultures

Pupil Workshops
As part of our ongoing efforts to address negative behaviours between pupils and reinforce positive interactions, we have also arranged for a highly recommended external agency to deliver student workshops on May 7th for pupils from First to Sixth Class. These sessions will be interactive, engaging, and age-appropriate.
In addition, we invite all parents to attend a Parent Information Session via Zoom on the evening of May 7th. This session will provide valuable insights into how we can work together to encourage respectful and supportive peer relationships among our students. A link for the Zoom session will be shared closer to the date.
Smart Watches in School
Just a quick note to remind everyone that, in line with our school’s digital devices policy, children are not allowed to bring smart watches to school. You can find the full policy on our school website here. Thanks for your support in keeping our school environment focused and distraction-free.
Sports Updates
Meath Basketball League – Well Done to Our Teams!
A huge well done to all the students who participated in our first-ever Meath Basketball League! Our final game took place last Monday against Kildalkey, and Ms. Ryan was extremely proud of both the boys' and girls' teams for their performances—regardless of the outcome.
The teams showed fantastic progress with every match, demonstrating dedication, teamwork, and sportsmanship. Well done to all involved! 🏀👏
FAI 5 aside soccer
Well done to the 16 students from 5th and 6th class that took part in the FAI Primary 5s competition in the MDL on Wednesday. The boys did really well with some wins, draws and losses but they can be very proud of their efforts. The girls will attend the competition next Wednesday and we wish them the very best of luck!
