Bobcat Bulletin
October 2026
Principal's Message
Dear Bannes Families,
It’s hard to believe we already have our first full month of school behind us!
September was a great month at Bannes. Our Bobcats settled into routines, built relationships, and embraced our Challenge Accepted mindset. We asked our students to be willing to try new things, take academic risks, and believe they can do hard things. We saw so many examples of that throughout our classrooms, and we loved seeing our families take on the September Family Challenge right alongside us.
As we move into October, we’re building on that work with our SEL focus on problem-solving and resilience. Trying something new is the first step. What happens when it doesn’t work the first time? That’s where the real growth happens.
We want our Bobcats to learn to pause, think, try another way, ask for help when they need it, and keep going. At home, you can help by giving your child opportunities to work through those little challenges instead of immediately jumping in to solve them. It may take a little longer, but those moments help build confidence, independence, and resilience.
October is also a busy month at Bannes, with lots of opportunities to learn, celebrate, and come together as a community. We hope you’ll join us!
Thank you for a wonderful September and for continuing to partner with us as we help our Bobcats Believe. Challenge. Achieve.

🐾 Challenge Accepted: Family Challenge!
This month, our Bobcats are focusing on problem-solving and resilience. We want our students to know that things won’t always come easily, and that’s okay. We learn and grow when we stick with something, try a different approach, and keep going.
For our October Family Challenge, take a walk together and spend some time noticing the nature around you. Look for something that has had to adapt, change, or overcome a challenge.
As you walk, talk about what you notice. What challenges might plants, trees, or animals face? How do they adapt? What can we learn from nature about handling challenges in our own lives?
Share it with us!
If you can, snap a picture from your walk and send it our way. We’d love to share some of our Bobcat families taking on the challenge together!
The picture is optional. The conversation is what matters most.
Challenge Accepted!
Believe. Challenge. Achieve.
CHALLENGE ACCEPTED!
Thank you to all of our Bobcat families who jumped in and accepted our September Family Challenge!
We loved seeing our students step outside their comfort zones and try something new, but even more, we loved seeing families spending time together. Our Bobcats were cooking with their families, cheering on family members at races, building things, fishing, and trying all kinds of new experiences together.
That is exactly what this challenge was about. Trying something new, supporting one another, and making some memories along the way.
Thank you for taking the time to participate and for showing our Bobcats that we can do hard things, especially when we have people cheering us on!
Families who participated can expect a little something to come home with their Bobcat by Friday.
Challenge Accepted!
Believe. Challenge. Achieve.
