A Message from Mr. Bryant
Dear Tiger Families,
It was another fantastic week at Carl Sandburg Middle School, filled with plenty of achievements to celebrate and exciting events ahead! Looking forward, our 8th-grade students will participate in the Lake County NAVIG8 Fair this Tuesday, October 20th, where they will explore various career paths and learn how to align their upcoming high school journey with their future goals. Beginning Monday, students will be able to bring class materials for the next class after PE. There are hooks and clear bags outside the gymnasium where the students are able to put their belongings. On the sports front, huge congratulations go out to our 6th/7th grade soccer team for capping off an incredible, undefeated season with a 5-0-2 record, capped by winning the Lakeside Conference Tournament Championship! Great work to our players and coaches! Finally, I want to say thank you to the people of Mundelein for coming out to enjoy our 56th Annual BratFest. The community vendors, the food trucks, the D75 staff, and the families of Mundelein are what made it a great event. We are looking forward to an even better event next year!

Earned Honors Frequently Asked Questions
At Carl Sandburg, we are proud to offer all sixth, seventh, and eighth-grade students the opportunity to earn an honors distinction in English Language Arts and/or Spanish Language Arts courses by demonstrating mastery of the learning goals. Earning honors in these areas aims to recognize and celebrate academic excellence while promoting the belief that all students have the potential to achieve at high levels. Lunch Survey
We are committed to providing students with a positive and enjoyable dining experience. As part of our ongoing effort to support the needs of our school community, we are partnering with Whitsons Culinary Group to gather feedback on our foodservice program. We invite students, families, faculty, and staff to participate in a brief survey and share their experiences and perspectives. Your feedback will help us better understand what is working well and identify opportunities to further enhance our meal program.
Take the Survey: https://xmp.insight-surveys.com/s/fall-2026
Your input will help us:
• Assess satisfaction with our current food service program
• Enhance the meal experience for students, families, and staff
• Enhance the overall dining experience throughout our schools
The survey will be available from October 26 through November 6 and should take only a few minutes to complete. Responses will be collected by Whitsons and shared with our school administration as we work together to continuously improve the program. We encourage everyone who participates in our school meal program to take part. Your feedback is important and greatly appreciated. Thank you for helping us create the best possible dining experience for our school community.

New Information
- The Board of Education of Mundelein Elementary School District 75 is committed to ensuring all students have access to educational and co-curricular opportunities. To support this goal, the district will waive all school fees and fines required for participation if a student’s parent or guardian qualifies for assistance. To be considered for a waiver of registration and beginning-of-year fees, returning families must submit their application by October 15, 2026.
Applications submitted after this date will apply only to future fees. New families have 30 days from their student’s first day of school to apply; if approved within that window, registration fees may be waived. After the 30-day period, assistance may still be requested, but it will only apply to future fees.
Applications for fee waivers are available online at the Financial Assistance page. To apply, families must complete the required application. Once completed, forms may be dropped off at the Mundelein Elementary School District 75 Office, located at 470 N. Lake Street, Mundelein, IL 60060.
If you prefer to schedule an appointment, please contact District 75 Registrar Patty DeLozier at (847) 949-2700, extension 2014.
Read the attached letter from the district to learn how to apply!
