Cell Phone Ban Sources
Journalism friends,
Mackenzi Klemann with the Indiana Capital Chronicle is working on a story about Indiana's new bell-to-bell ban on personal devices in schools. She is particularly interested in talking about unexpected expenses like schools that don't have enough lockers for students to store their devices.
If you have the time, she would like to speak with educators about the following:
• What have you observed in your building and/or your classroom since the law took effect this year?
• What challenges have you encountered trying to enforce the rules? Does your school have strict policies in place? Do students have lockers or pouches they can store their phones in? How involved are teachers in enforcement?
• How has the law affected instruction?
• Do you believe the law is working as intended? Should it be revised?
Phone interviews are preferred, but she’ll take email responses too if lots of people reply.
Her email is mklemann@indianacapitalchronicle.com, and her deadline is Friday. It would be great to hear from a lot of journalism educators!
Thanks so much!
