Dear Crabapple Crossing Elementary Families,

Welcome to Crabapple Crossing Elementary—Home of the Colts! Whether you are joining us for the very first time or returning for another exciting school year, I am thrilled to welcome each of you to our CCES family.

For those I have not yet had the opportunity to meet, my name is Laura Butler, and I am honored to serve as your principal. I bring 20 years of experience in education, all within Fulton County Schools, and I am incredibly proud to be a part of this exceptional school community.

One of the things that makes Crabapple Crossing so special is our people. We are fortunate to have phenomenal staff members, kind and happy students, and supportive families who work together to create an outstanding learning environment. I take great pride in leading a school that is committed to excellence and grounded in our 3 Cs—Courageous, Compassionate, and Connected. These values reflect who we are as Colts and help shape the positive, student-centered culture that makes CCES such a special place.

While I take the responsibility of leading our school very seriously, I also know the importance of taking care of our community. Building strong relationships and listening to the perspectives of our students, staff, and families are priorities of mine. I believe the best schools are built through partnership, trust, and open communication, and I look forward to continuing that work with all of you.

As we prepare for another fantastic school year, I would also like to share some information about our weekly communication. Throughout this newsletter, you will find brief introductions to the main components of The Colt Chronicle, our weekly newsletter that is sent every Friday during the school year. The Colt Chronicle is designed to be our primary source of school-wide communication and will always include:

  • A Principal's Message – A weekly update and important information directly from me.
  • Upcoming Events – Important dates, deadlines, and event information to help keep your family informed.
  • The PTO Post – Updates, announcements, and opportunities from our amazing PTO.
  • Repeated Information – Important information that has already been shared but remains relevant and necessary for families to review.
  • Around Milton – Information from our community partners, including Northwestern Middle School, Milton High School, and our CCES PTO Business Partners who directly support Crabapple Crossing Elementary. To maintain consistency and purpose, we will only feature information from these approved partners and will not run advertisements for non-business partners in this section.

I am very passionate about ensuring that our communication is clear, consistent, and streamlined. Because of that, I encourage every family to review The Colt Chronicle each week. It will serve as your one-stop source for everything happening at CCES and will help ensure that you stay informed and connected throughout the school year.

Thank you for your partnership and support. We are excited to welcome everyone back and look forward to another incredible year of learning, growth, and success together.

Go Colts!

Working Together,

Laura

As we prepare for the new school year, we want to share a quick reminder regarding class assignments. While some preliminary information may be visible in our student information system, please note that class lists have not yet been finalized. Our staff is continuing to carefully review student placements to ensure balanced and supportive classroom communities for all learners.

Final class assignments will be confirmed the day before Open House, which will be held on July 31 from 8:30–10:30 a.m. Families will be notified of their child's placement through an email from their child's teacher prior to Open House. Please be sure to monitor your email for this important communication.

We appreciate your patience and understanding as we complete this process thoughtfully and thoroughly. We look forward to welcoming our students and families at Open House!
