Madison High School Updates
January 4th, 2026
Message from Mrs. Thomas
Happy New Year! On behalf of the entire MHS Staff, we hope everyone had a wonderful holiday break! We are looking forward to a positive and productive 2026!
This past December MHS Teacher, Mr. Joe Laginess, announced his retirement. Mr. Laginess was a member of our HS English Department and taught English 9 and AP Language & Composition along with a variety of electives such as Creative Writing and Junior Seminar. Mr. Laginess had a passion for teaching English and was very invested in helping his students become critical thinkers who were competent in their ability to read and write. His contributions to MHS are greatly appreciated and we wish Mr. Laginess all the best in his retirement!
Filling the vacancy created by Mr. Laginess's retirement, will be Ms. Jillian Molnar. Ms. Molnar is a graduate of Adrian College and is excited to join the Madison Family! Please join me in welcoming Ms. Molnar to MHS and be sure to check out her letter to the MHS Family here.

The American Red Cross will be in the Madison PAC on Wednesday, January 28th, from 8:15 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. Please help us reach our goal and schedule an appointment online or contact Lora Stricklen at lora.stricklen@madisonk12.us /
263-0741 (x-216) for assistance. You can also share our direct link to encourage others to give the gift of life. ***Students will need to make an appointment at school (not online) to receive a school related absence.
