A Message from the Principal's Office
October 30, 2026
Dear SES Community,
It is hard to believe the end of October is here and we have completed our 45th day of school.
Next week SES will be hosting Family/Teacher Conferences for your students. Please remember there will be early dismissals next week on Tuesday 11/3, Wednesday 11/4, Thursday 11/5, & Friday 11/6. Miss L. will be hosting the Scholastic Book Fair during this time. For more information on the Book Fair, please see below.
A big thank you to everyone who helped make our Vocabulary Costume Day and parade such a wonderful success! It was truly special to watch our students shine as they shared their creativity, imagination, and excitement for learning with the entire school.
The costumes were absolutely fantastic, and our learners did an amazing job bringing their chosen vocabulary words to life. We loved seeing their enthusiasm and pride as they marched around the track and showed off their hard work.
A huge thank you to all of our families and caregivers for helping put together costumes, practicing words at home, and supporting this fun tradition. Your time and energy helped make this day so memorable for everyone!
Thank you for your ongoing partnership as we work together to celebrate reading, language, and our wonderful school community.
Have a wonderful weekend,
Principal Anne

New SES School Adjustment Counselor
Please welcome Julie Rosenshein
Julie Rosenshein has had a passion working with elementary school age children and tweens ever since her first job as an art teacher and camp director. In 1999 she earned her Masters in Clinical Social Work with Children and Families from Columbia University. She has maintained a private practice and served as the school adjustment counselor at Redding Elementary School.
When she is not working, Julie loves to build houses with Habitat for Humanity, search for sea glass along the coast, and spend time hiking with her dog Chloe. She is thrilled to be joining the SES community.
BOOK FAIR - NOVEMBER
Our book fair is scheduled to coincide with fall conferences. You are welcome to visit the fair before or after your child's conference. You may also bring your school-age children to the fair and Ms. L. will watch them in the library while you are meeting with teachers. (This applies to conferences from 1:00-3:30.)

Monte's March
Food Bank of Western MA
We're proud to support the 17th Annual March for the Food Bank with Monte Belmonte, a 46-mile, two-day journey from Springfield to Greenfield taking place November 23–24.
This year, we’re working together to raise $800,000, and every $1 donated helps create the equivalent of three nutritious meals. Your support helps provide nutritious food while raising awareness about the larger issues that contribute to hunger in Western Massachusetts.
Thank you for standing with us and supporting the Food Bank. Together, we end hunger.
Last year we crushed our fundraising goal! Let's try to do it again this year. March with us at school on November 23rd or 24th, or support one of our marchers. Thank you!
