Letter from the Principal

Dear Tiger Families,

We had a joyful celebration on Wednesday in honor of the Feast of St. Thérèse of Lisieux. The Franciscans visited to recognize two of our students for their wonderful creativity in the Carlo Acutis Exhibit. If you’re in the building, be sure to take a peek at Elsa B.’s artwork proudly displayed in the trophy case—it’s a beautiful example of our students using their God-given gifts!

Today, our school is buzzing with excitement as we send off our Saints baseball team to the State Tournament in Pinckneyville tomorrow! We are so proud of their hard work and teamwork—please keep them in your prayers as they compete.

We will also be holding our first intruder drill of the year today. These drills, while brief, are an important part of keeping our students safe and confident in the event of an emergency.

Looking ahead to next week, students will take part in a Bus Evacuation Drill. Our Preschool–4th graders will also enjoy a special visit from the Fire Department, where they’ll learn what to do in emergency situations in a fun and meaningful way. In addition, our 2nd and 4th graders will go through the Escape House to practice safety skills in a hands-on environment.

Finally, we invite all families to join us this weekend as St. Teresa Parish celebrates the Feast of St. Thérèse. It’s a beautiful way to come together in faith and community!

As always, we thank you for sharing your student with us. We appreciate your trust, support, and partnership. TIGERS LEAD THE WAY!

Sincerely,

Nicole Green

Principal

October is the Month of the Holy Rosary, a devotion rooted in the Church’s gratitude for Mary’s intercession. Throughout this month, Catholics are invited to pray the Rosary more faithfully, drawing closer to Christ through Mary and seeking peace, strength, and renewal for our lives, families, and parishes. Use the HALLOW app as a way to foster a deeper love for the Rosary and inspire hearts to embrace its timeless power.

As a parent, do you desire to lead your family closer to God, but sometimes struggle to know where to start? Do you personally experience an internal longing to know God more deeply? If yes, then reading this may really bless you. Nick, our school's Hallow Representative, recorded a 2 minute video inviting us into something special. Watch the video to find out more about our partnership and what's available to you!

Once a month at the 11:00 AM Mass at St. Teresa Church, we celebrate our Children and Youth Mass.

During this special liturgy, the young members of our parish are invited to take part in the ministries of the Mass—serving as greeters, ushers, readers, and gift bearers.

Our next Children and Youth Mass will be held on Sunday, October 19th at 11:00 AM. We encourage all families to mark their calendars and join us for this joyful celebration.

If your child would like to participate, please use the sign-up links below to select a ministry role.

We look forward to seeing our youth involved and growing in faith!
