"Optimism is the faith that leads to achievement. Nothing can be done without hope and confidence".

Principal's Update
Western Center families and friends,
February was an exciting and busy month as WMCTC proudly celebrated Career and Technical Education Month. Throughout the month, students, teachers, and community partners came together to highlight the importance of hands-on learning and career readiness.
CTE programs provide students with valuable opportunities to explore career pathways, develop technical skills, and gain real-world experience that prepares them for both college and the workforce. Our students showcased their talents through classroom projects, skill demonstrations, and collaborative activities that reflected the high-quality learning happening in our programs every day.
We were also fortunate to welcome industry professionals who shared their experiences and insights with students, helping them better understand the many career opportunities available after graduation. These partnerships strengthen the connection between education and the workforce while inspiring students to pursue their passions.
We are incredibly proud of the dedication and accomplishments of our CTE students and teachers. Their hard work, creativity, and commitment to excellence continue to make our programs thrive.
The New Student Application continues to be open on our website. We encourage anyone interested in attending WMCTC to apply. Deadline is March 15, 2026.
Our Facebook page (link below) has many posts featuring students doing interesting things in their programs. You may even find a WMCTC alum being featured. Check us out. Better yet, follow us on Facebook to be sure you don't miss any of the feature stories.
Have a nice weekend.

State Dinner
On February 19, WMCTC hosted a “State Dinner” as part of its community events program. These dinners are typically organized by the school’s Culinary Arts students, who plan, prepare, and serve a formal multi-course meal for invited guests. The event was used to showcase students’ skills while bringing together local officials, business leaders, educators, and community partners. Chef Arnt, Chef McGinnis and their students worked tirelessly for this event, and it was a huge success.
To see more pictures of the State Dinner, visit our website at https://www.westerncenter.org/services/the-dining-room/photos-of-state-dinner. Stay tuned to our Facebook page for our five-part series showcasing our amazing State Dinner.
Skills Over Stereotypes
On February 26, WMCTC hosted “Skills Over Stereotypes,” an event focused on recognizing talent beyond labels and challenging common assumptions. Through engaging discussions and shared experiences, participants explored how focusing on skills, strengths, and potential helps create more inclusive opportunities for everyone. The session was a great reminder that when we look past stereotypes, we empower people to contribute their true abilities.
