Dear Fairfax Families,

I hope you're enjoying this four-day weekend! This is a friendly reminder that tomorrow we do not have school, and classes will resume on Tuesday, April 22, 2024.

As we prepare for upcoming state testing, please take note of the following important dates for Math and Science assessments:

Math Ohio State Test Dates (Grades 4–5)

  • Tuesday, April 22: Math Part I (Grades 4–5)

  • Thursday, April 24: Math Part II (Grades 4–5)

Math and Science Ohio State Test Dates (Grade 3 and Grade 5)

  • Tuesday, April 29: Math Part I (Grade 3) & Science Part I (Grade 5)

Please ensure your child gets plenty of rest the night before each test and comes prepared with a positive attitude. We are confident they will do their best!

ELA Testing Update

A huge thank you to our 3-5 families for their support! On the second day of the ELA test, only 4 students were absent, which is fantastic! This helps to minimize makeup testing days and reduces stress for our students. We truly appreciate your efforts in ensuring that students are present and ready to perform at their best.

Shoutout to Our Superheroes!

We want to give a big shoutout to all of our K-2 students for being super silent superheroes during the testing sessions. Your focus and respect during testing time were incredible, and we couldn’t be prouder of you. Keep up the amazing work!

Teacher of the Year Finalist: Mrs. Tamar Gray!

We are thrilled to announce that Mrs. Tamar Gray has been selected as a Teacher of the Year finalist! Mrs. Gray is not only an incredible teacher but also an amazing human being. Her dedication to her students and passion for education make her truly deserving of this recognition. We wish her the best of luck and hope she is selected as the district's Teacher of the Year. We are lucky to have such a phenomenal educator as part of our school community!

District Art Show Recognition: Congratulations to Our Artists!

We are excited to share the wonderful news that the District Art Show was held at the Lee Road Library on April 11, and our students shone brightly! Congratulations to our first, second, and third place winners for their outstanding artwork (pictured above). Their creativity and talent are truly inspiring.

A special thank you to Mrs. Ballard for her dedication and guidance in helping our students develop their artistic skills. We are incredibly proud of all our young artists, and their success is a testament to their hard work and passion!

🏫 Attendance Matters

We have approximately 25 school days left, and every minute counts! Attendance directly impacts our school’s state report card—and even being just 5 minutes late adds up. The good news? Our attendance has improved compared to this time last year—even with recent illnesses.

Please continue to support us by:

  • Getting your child to school on time

  • Keeping them in school for the full day, whenever possible

Thank you for helping us finish the year strong!
