Free Vision Screenings!
MS 50 is excited to once again partner with the New York Vision Program of Helen Keller International to offer FREE vision screenings to all of our students this week Wednesday and Thursday! Students who need them will receive a free pair of glasses and a prescription. If you do NOT wish for your child to receive this screening, please complete the opt-out form available on Operoo. Make sure your student is in attendance this week to take advantage of this incredible opportunity!
"Promises" Screening
MS 50's Equity Team will be hosting a two-part screening of the 2001 documentary "Promises," a film which explores the lives and perspectives of children living in Israel and Palestine, followed by a facilitated discussion on March 20th and 27th from 5:00-7:30pm. Our goal for this event is to create a space where our beautiful, diverse, community can come together to learn from each other, engage in meaningful dialogue, and build community. This is our first event on this topic and we are only opening this space for our current families, students, and staff to engage with this film. If you are outside of our immediate community, we appreciate your understanding. Registration is required at ms50.org/promises or by clicking the link below.

Physical Education
This week is the start of the March Madness Basketball Unit in PE! We kick off this unit by spotlighting the main skills of basketball. This week we will focus on passing, introducing the chest pass and the bounces pass. Students will practice these skills through a series of drills and will play games of “keep away” in order to put their passing skills to the test! Students who were absent for Fitnessgram testing last week will also be doing their make-ups this week. Drop into Molfetta’s Zoom room on Thursday during PTC’s if you would like to chat or want more info about everything PE!
