Ready for a Great Year - 2026/2027
Our award-winning Transportation Team has been working hard behind the scenes, and we’re ready to roll! If you have any questions or need support, don’t hesitate to reach out—we’re here to help!
We’re proud to share that Prosper ISD was named one of the 2025 TASB Excellence Award Winners under the leadership of Director Teri Mapengo! This prestigious honor recognized our team’s commitment to excellence and best practices in school transportation. We’re proud to be one of five in Texas to receive this distinction and to serve as a model for districts across the State.
Important Transportation Reminders
Setting Expectations: Bus Air Conditioning
Heads up, Prosper Proud families: our buses do have air conditioning, but with Texas heat and frequent stops (doors opening, engine idling), it mostly just takes the edge off rather than making the bus feel cold. Please send your student with a water bottle and lightweight clothing for the ride to and from school.
First Two Weeks
Be sure to continue checking Skyward through the first 2 weeks of school for any updates or changes.
Please be patient for the first 2 weeks of school as traffic and buses may be running late due to Parent Traffic. If you are experiencing constant delays after the first 2 weeks of school, please email PISDBUS@prosper-isd.net.
New for 2026-2027
Bus Rider ID Badges Required for All Bus Riders
To enhance student safety and accountability, all Prosper ISD bus riders in grades PK–12 will be required to have and use a Bus Rider ID Badge for transportation services.
Each badge contains RFID technology that helps us:
Confirm students are boarding the correct bus.
Improve rider accountability.
Assist with student location verification during transportation operations.
Support campus and parent inquiries.
- Enhance emergency response capabilities.
- Improve overall student safety.
What Parents Need to Know
Students will receive their Bus Rider ID Badge the week of August 24.
Students should bring their Bus Rider ID Badge to school each day.
BBeginning September 1, 2026, all students must have their badge to scan on and off the bus.
Students will scan their badge when boarding and exiting the bus.
If a badge is lost or damaged, please notify your campus as soon as possible.
Additional information regarding replacement badges will be shared by the campus.
The Bus Rider ID Badge program is designed to provide an added layer of safety and accountability while helping us better serve students and families.
