Bothwell Buzz
July 3, 2026
Dear Bothwell Families,
We hope you're soaking up every last bit of summer and making wonderful memories with your family! While there's still plenty of summer left to enjoy, we know the excitement of a new school year is beginning to build, and we couldn't be more excited.
As we prepare to begin Year 3 at Bothwell, we can't help but reflect on how much our school has grown in such a short time. What started as a brand-new campus has quickly become a place filled with meaningful relationships, unforgettable memories, and a strong sense of community. We are incredibly grateful for the partnership we share with our families and are excited to continue building something truly special together.
To all of our returning Bobcats, welcome back! We can't wait to hear about your summer adventures and see all the ways you've grown. To our new students and families, welcome to the Bothwell family! We are so excited that you've chosen to join our community, and we look forward to getting to know each of you.
To stay connected throughout the year, we encourage all families to follow our Bothwell Elementary Facebook page. It's a great way to see photos, celebrate student accomplishments, and stay up to date on everything happening around campus.
We'll also keep you informed each week through our Bothwell Buzz newsletter, which will be sent every Friday during the school year. It will include important reminders, upcoming events, campus news, and classroom highlights to help keep our Bothwell community informed and connected.
We know this school year is going to be filled with exciting opportunities, meaningful learning, and memories that will last a lifetime. Thank you for being such an important part of the Bothwell family. We can't wait to welcome everyone back in August and make our third year together our best one yet!
All the BESt,
Kristen Aune

2026 Porch Visit Information
We are excited to begin our Bothwell Elementary Porch Visits in July, a sweet tradition we started our first year to extend a warm welcome to our school community. Porch Visits give students a chance to see a friendly face before the school year begins, while also allowing our teachers, administrators, and staff to start building meaningful partnerships between school and home. These early connections help create a supportive learning environment and contribute to positive student outcomes. This year, Porch Visits will be prioritized for students who are NEW to Bothwell or who DID NOT receive a Porch Visit last year. Our goal is for every student to receive a Porch Visit at least once during their time at Bothwell.

Pre-K Parent Meeting on July 29th
We are so excited to welcome your family to the Bothwell community! Starting Pre-K is such a special milestone, and we are honored to be part of this exciting new journey with you and your child.
To help ensure a smooth and successful start to the school year, we invite all Pre-K parents to join us for our "Preparing for a Successful Start of School Experience" parent meeting on Wednesday, July 29, from 5:30–6:15 p.m. This meeting is for parents only, allowing us to focus on important information and answer your questions without distractions.
During this session, we'll share helpful information about preparing your child for school, including potty training, self-care skills, daily routines, arrival and dismissal procedures, communication, and other tips that will help your child feel confident and ready for their first day.
This meeting is designed to provide practical guidance, answer your questions, and help set both you and your child up for a wonderful beginning to this exciting new chapter. We look forward to partnering with you and can't wait to welcome your little Bobcat to Bothwell!
Playdate on the Playground
We’re excited to invite you to our Playdate on the Playground—a fun and casual way for students and families to connect before we kick off the school year! This is a wonderful opportunity for your child to meet new friends, reunite with classmates, and begin building strong connections that will last all year long. Parents or guardians must attend with their child, as this is a family event designed to help us grow together as a Bothwell community. Kona Ice will be available for purchase, so come cool off, say hello, and help us continue building a warm, welcoming Bothwell family. We can’t wait to see you there!
Kindergarten Screeners
We are so excited to invite you and your incoming kindergartener to our Bothwell Kindergarten Screeners on Monday, July 27th! This is such a special time for your child, and we can’t wait to meet our newest Bothwell students.
Please use the link below to select a time that works best for your family. Appointments are scheduled back-to-back, so we kindly ask that you arrive on time so we can give every child our full attention.

After the screener, stop by our adorable photo spot to snap a picture and celebrate the beginning of your child’s kindergarten journey—such a memorable milestone!
School Supplies for 2026-2027
If you did not pre-order school supplies through the EPI school supply kits that were available in May and June, we wanted to make sure you have access to this year's school supply list so you can be prepared for the start of school in August. Purchasing supplies ahead of time helps ensure your child has everything they need for a successful first day. We are excited to welcome our Bobcats back soon and can't wait to begin another incredible year of learning, growing, and making memories together!
Here are the lists for Bothwell School Supplies for 26-27.
School Supplies Update for Kindergarten and First Grade
As you prepare for the new school year and begin purchasing school supplies, we wanted to share an important update regarding headphones for our kindergarten and first grade students. Our new classroom technology requires USB-C headphones rather than the traditional headphones with a standard headphone jack.
If you purchased the pre-order school supply pack through EPI, there is nothing you need to do. EPI will provide the correct USB-C headphones in your child's supply pack. If you are purchasing school supplies on your own, please be sure to purchase headphones with a USB-C connector so your child will be ready for the first day of school.

Summer To Do List
2. Clean out the lunch boxes. You do not want a science experiment waiting for you in August. :)
3. Throw away your car tag and take-home folder. Everyone gets a shiny new set at Meet the Teacher!
4. Add to your house color collection. All students will stay in the same house—so go ahead and stock up on those matching socks, headbands, and hats.
5. Purchase school supplies. Because nothing says “I’m ready for school” like a fresh pack of pencils.
6. Celebrate the year with your child. Ask what made them laugh the most this year—you might get a surprising (and hilarious) answer.
7. Check the Bothwell Facebook page for important updates throughout the summer. Think of it as your virtual walkie-talkie to school… minus the static.
8. Read with your child. Even just a bedtime book—because nothing beats ending the day with giggles.
9. Teach your child a "grown-up" skill just for fun. Folding laundry, making pancakes, or writing a grocery list—they’ll feel 10 feet tall, and you might even get breakfast in bed (eventually).
10. Make the BESt memories! Whether it’s a beach day, a backyard picnic, or just laughing until your sides hurt—soak it all in.
