School Links Parent Onboarding:
Dear Parents/Guardians of Middle School and High School students,
We are very excited to introduce our new college and career readiness platform, SchooLinks!
All of the SchooLinks features are designed with students in mind to help them become career, college, and life-ready. As guardians, you will have access to SchooLinks through your own account. This allows you to join your students in their career and college exploration process and discuss their future with them.
SchooLinks allows you to have informed conversations with your students by:
Viewing your student’s career interest, strength, and mindset assessments
Seeing what colleges and careers your student has favorited
Comparing college costs and explore expected financial aid, scholarships, and out-of-pocket expenses
See this document to learn more about how to access your account.
For additional information regarding the platform's benefits, please join us at the district’s College and Career Night, on August 27th at McNair High School.
Smartphone use policy
Please share your ideas in the thought exchange through the link below.
Our current policy on smartphones is that they are to be put away and silent during instructional time unless the teacher is allowing students to use for instructional purposes.
Many school districts have implemented or are on their way to implementing policies that address smartphone use by students during the school day and the governor has voiced his support on a number of occasions. We believe it is important to gather input from students, staff and our families as we develop our updated policy.
Please share your ideas in the thought exchange through the link below.

Minga Praise!
Parents:
You may have received an email saying that your student has been recognized for their behavior from our digital award system called "Minga". This is great news! Your student is showing the qualities of the BRUIN Way: Be Prepared; Respect Others; Understand Diversity; Interact Positively; Never Give Up. Be proud of your student, we sure are.
ART RAAB MEMORIAL ESSAY COMPETITION 2024-25
ART RAAB MEMORIAL ESSAY COMPETITION 2024-25
“We must accept finite disappointment but never lose infinite hope.”
Martin Luther King, Jr.
Students write 400-800 words to address:
Challenges and setbacks are a natural part of life, but they should not discourage us from dreaming and striving for a better future. Think about a time when you or someone you know faced a disappointment or challenge. How did that feel? What was learned from that experience?
Reflect on Martin Luther King Jr.’s words and discuss how holding on to hope can help us overcome difficulties and continue to work toward our goals.
In your essay, include:
1. A description of the challenge or setback.
2. How this felt and what was learned from the situation.
3. Your thoughts on why it is important to maintain hope, even in tough times.
Remember to support your ideas with specific examples and to explain how they connect to the quote. Your essay should be thoughtful, organized, and show an understanding of the message behind Dr. King’s words.
The competition is open to all Lodi Unified School District students in fifth and sixth grades. Teachers are encouraged to have their students enter the competition. Teachers select ONE winning essay from each class to be sent to the ESC for the competition finals. Please write student, teacher and school names on the BACKS of essays.
