Autumn has arrived!

Our playground is here and was built by Sinclair Recreation! Next we are putting in some drain tile, sand, fabric and then mulch! If you would still like to contribute to our playground fund, we are still taking donations which will help cover the cost of installation along with the ground coverings. Thank you to Tony Marr from Blue Star Farms for all the work he has done to prepare the new playground area!

We will be hosting Jean Veenema-Birky on Monday, October 6th from 3:30-4:30pm when she presents “ The Impact of Screen Use on the Brain of a Child.” We do have free childcare available during this presentation. Please RSVP by October 3rd to Miss. Cate at 269-512-7970 or cate.rutter@glenn.school.

This month we will be collecting soup for The Giving Tree. These donations will be picked up on the last day of the month and be donated to Ladders of Hope Food Pantry in Fennville. Teaching students the importance of community service and giving to others is a part of our Vision Statement at Glenn School through our Strategic Plan. You can learn more at www.glennpublicschool.org under the About Us tab.

This year we have registered to host a Field of Flags through Disabled American Veterans (DAV) on Veterans Day, which is Tuesday, November 11th. Please consider donating online at https://support.dav.org/FieldofFlags.

Remember to get outside and enjoy this beautiful weather. Take a walk to see how the leaves are changing, take a bike ride, visit a farm, or go on a scavenger hunt.

Sincerely,

Ms. Walle

Superintendent/Principal

Jacob Clemons

My name is Jacob Clemons. I am a newer resident to the Glenn community, a firefighter with South Haven Area Emergency Services, Full time EMT with Life EMS Ambulance Service and an instructor within the Fire Service. Father of 2 children and married to my wife for the past 15 years. As a family we enjoy the outdoors year round and believe in community.

I have served as a state appointed committee member of the Michigan Blueberry Commission where I was elected as chairperson and served as secretary of that organization during its initial formation. I have also served as secretary for the South Haven Paid On Call Association. My wife and I own a business and enjoy cultivating produce for others to enjoy.

I am looking forward to working with the existing board members for the benefit of the students, faculty and community, growing into a bright future together.

Sincerely,

Jacob Clemons
