It's beginning to feel like fall and the excitement about back to school is in the air! Weymouth ECC staff were so excited to be able to stop by on Thursday and Friday of last week to see the newly renovated WECC. They will have the opportunity to begin to set up their classrooms, this week. Mrs. MacKay and I are busy unpacking the front office to get it ready for staff and families. See pictures below.

Back to School letters and Registration questions:

If your child did not receive a Welcome Back to school letter, what are the next steps?

• Have you completed the entire registration process? If not, Step 1 includes that you set up an account in the Family Connection portal

• Once this is complete you must set up an appointment by calling Weymouth ECC to complete Part II of the registration process. There are a number of documents that you will need to bring with you to this appointment. Document list for Registration

• If your child has an IEP, has it been signed?

• Do you have a new address?

When your registration is complete you will receive a Welcome Letter with information about your child’s teacher, parent and student orientation dates. If you need to call the office for additional support, the number is 781-335-0191. Please remember we are now located at 89 Middle St. Door #7.

Parking:

Below you will find an aerial map of the building. Outlined in Blue you will see the driveway (horseshoe) for parking to drop off and pick up your child. All students must be walked up to Door #2. Staff members will be out front to meet and greet students and their families. We will have designated staff spots for drop off and pick up so that you know where to greet your child each day.

Traffic into the horseshoe will need to be single file. When parking, we ask that you park on the right hand side. Upon arrival you must pull all the way around the horseshoe to allow for other cars to park behind you so that we accomodate a spot for as many families as possible.

For families that know they will struggle with students transitioning into school, there are a few parking spots directly in front of the Abigail Adams building OR there are family spots in the lot off of Academy Ave. (WECC front entrance) We have identified the first row of parking spots for families only. There are handicap accessible spaces and 4 additional spots for visitor parking, directly in front of the main entrance of WECC.

Drop off and pick up may have some bumps during the first weeks of school. These bumps should be fleeting as we all learn the new routines. If you worry about getting stuck in the lot and need to be on the road quickly, you may want to consider parking out on Academy Ave. or Middle St. Please drive slowly, as safety is a top priority!

Playground:

Some great news!! The playground area has been prepped this week by our fabulous WPS Maintenance Team. The construction of the new playground will occur in phases with an exciting variety of structures designed to foster creativity, imagination and FUN!! We look forward to watching the progress as this begins to take shape. Many thanks to our Parent Council for quickly springing into action to raise funds for this important project and the Mayor's Office which is helping to identify additional funding sources for this important project.

Safety:

We ask that parents, guardians or anyone you place on your child's pick up list have a picture ID with them. As we get to know our families and caregivers, we may ask for an ID, to verify our caregivers.

Tuition:

If you choose to mail your tuition, please be sure to address the envelope with Weymouth Early Childhood Center or WECC at 89 Middle St. Weymouth, 02189.

We hope to have our own drop box at door #7 but until then you can drop off your tuition at the front door of the Administrative Offices. Please label your envelope with WECC C/O Maura Perez. Cash will not be accepted if you choose to drop off at the Admin. Offices.
