HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!š¾āā
Welcome Back Bulldogs!
Dear Beaubien Families,
Happy New Year! As we begin a new calendar year, we are proud to reflect on the strong start our students, staff, and families have made together. The first months of the school year have been filled with learning, growth, and meaningful connections, and we are excited to continue building on that momentum as we move forward in 2026.
A new year is also a natural time to pause and think about goals, both for ourselves and for our children. One of the most powerful goals we can set as families is to continue supporting our childrenās success at school. When schools and families work together, students thrive. Below are a few reminders of ways we can partner to help every child do their very best at Beaubien.
Support Learning at Home
Talking with your child about their school day makes a difference. Asking questions like, āWhat did you learn today?ā or āWhat was something challenging or exciting?ā helps children reflect and communicate about their learning. Checking backpacks, reviewing completed homework, and offering encouragement when work feels difficult all reinforce the importance of effort and responsibility. While homework should always be completed independently, guidance and support are invaluable.
Attendance and On-Time Arrival Matter
Being present and on time each day is one of the most important factors in student success. School begins at 7:45 AM, and all side doors close at 7:45 AM. Students who arrive late miss important instruction and disrupt their own learning and that of others. Thank you for helping ensure students are walking through our doors on time and ready to learn.
Celebrate Effort, Not Just Outcomes
Children are motivated when their hard work is noticed. Praising effort, persistence, and improvement is often more impactful than focusing solely on grades. When students know their families value trying their best, they are more likely to take risks and remain engaged in learning.
Encourage Big Dreams for the Future
Although our students are still in elementary school, conversations about the future matter now. Helping children understand the importance of education beyond high school encourages them to set ambitious goals and see learning as a pathway to opportunity.
Traffic Safety During Arrival and Dismissal
The safety of our students is our top priority. We ask all families to please follow traffic and parking guidelines during drop-off and pick-up times. This includes obeying posted signs, using designated drop-off areas, avoiding double parking, and refraining from stopping in crosswalks or bus zones. Please be patient, alert, and courteous to staff, students, and other families. Your cooperation helps ensure a safe and smooth process for everyone.
Stay Connected and Involved
Family involvement is one of the strongest predictors of student success. We encourage all families to stay engaged by communicating with teachers, participating in school events, and using the CPS Parent Portal to monitor assignments and updates. Directions for accessing the portal can be found HERE.
Winter Weather & Safety Reminders
Please ensure your child is dressed warmly each day. We will continue outdoor line-ups and recess when the āfeels likeā temperature is 20 degrees or above, so coats, hats, gloves, and scarves are essential.
We are incredibly proud of our students, families, and staff, and we are grateful for the strong partnership that defines the Beaubien community. Together, we look forward to a positive, productive, and successful 2026.
Warm regards,
Principal Ludford and Assistant Principal Lukic
