All School Art Show

The Lunenburg Public Schools Art Department and Lunenburg Public Library proudly present:
The Annual All School Art Show

Join us in celebrating the creativity of students from across the Lunenburg district. This is a great chance for families to see the work that is being made at all grade levels. For students it’s an excellent chance to get inspired and get a sense of what art classes they may want to take in the future.

The All School Art Show will be on display in the Wallace Community Room at the Lunenburg Public Library from January 16th through February 12th. There will be a reception on Thursday February 5th from 6 - 7:30pm and will also have craft workshops for all to engage with.

Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day

We pay tribute to the life work of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. on Monday, January 19, 2026. School will be closed on that day in his honor. I would like to share a famous quote and video of Dr. King’s “I Have a Dream” Speech if you would like to view it this weekend. Here is a favorite quote from Dr. King:

“The ultimate measure of a man is not where he stands in moments of comfort and convenience, but where he stands at times of challenge and controversy.”

After School Music Program

After School Music Program is starting up its second session on January 20th. This is a great opportunity for students to learn a new instrument or get better at one they already play. This program is open to all Lunenburg Public School students and if you have any questions, please contact the Program Coordinator, Geoffrey Sheldon at gsheldon@lunenburgschools.net. Forms are due January 16th at the latest for placement with an instructor.

Clothing Drive

The class of 2026 has extended our clothing drive fundraiser and will offer a convenient drop off time on Saturday, 1/14 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM in front of TC Passios. All donations must be in 13 gallon size trash bags or larger. Clean out those closets and help the Class of 2026!

France/ Switzerland Trip 2027

Registration is open for the France/Switzerland trip in April of 2027. This trip is open to all rising 8th - 11th graders (grades 9-12 in 2027). Message from the LMHS Health Office

General Guidelines for School Attendance

If you have any questions or need help determining whether your child is well-enough to attend school, please call the health office before sending your child to school.

Health Protocols for Illness

Please keep your child home from school if they display any of the following symptoms:

Fever of 100 degrees or more, and until the child has had a normal temperature for 24 hours without the use of fever reducing medications.

Vomiting or diarrhea within the last 24 hours.

Uncontrollable or severe cough.

Rash of unknown cause.

Signs of infection of the eyes, ears, nose, throat, skin or scalp.

Please follow these guidelines when determining whether or not your child is ready to return to school after having been sick.

Temperature must be normal for 24 hours without the use of fever reducing medications.

At least 24 hours after intestinal illness (vomiting or diarrhea) has resolved.

Improvement or treatment of cough following primary care provider instructions

Improvement or treatment of rash following primary care provider instructions

Treatment of infection following primary care provider instructions for return to school.

Please remember, though your student may meet the above criteria, they may not have the energy level for return to school and full day of activity.

If your child becomes ill at school, you will be called to take them home. We understand the difficulties of working parents and ask that you make sure you are prepared for this possibility. Waiting for hours in the Health Office is very difficult for children who are not well. Current phone numbers and email addresses are essential to facilitate prompt communication with families. Families need to provide the school with reliable emergency contacts, indicating individuals who will be able to come to the school and pick up their child if they become sick during the school day. Please update and submit an Emergency Medical Form for each child, every school year. Dismissing sick children in a timely fashion is imperative for the safety of all.

Please contact your school nurse if you have any questions or concerns.
