Principal Message Principal Message

I hope this message finds you well. As part of our ongoing commitment to fostering a supportive and nurturing environment, our students took part in The Panorama Education survey, which is designed to capture student voices and allow students to express their perspectives about teaching and learning, culture and climate, and their school experiences.

This survey aids us in gathering valuable insights into your child's emotional well-being, strengths, and areas where they may need additional support.

Supportive relationships is an area that the students have rated the highest of all of the areas. This area provides a strong foundation upon which our students can thrive. These relationships create an environment where students feel valued, respected, and safe.

Emotional regulation is an area that our students feel the most challenged. Emotional regulation is how well students regulate their emotions. An example question on the survey is: How often are you able to control your emotions when you need to?

As we continue to prioritize the social and emotional development of our students, I would like to share some thoughts on how we can team up in fostering emotional regulation both at school and at home. Here are a few things you can do at home:

  • Model Emotional Regulation: Students learn by example. It is important to manage your own emotions and demonstrating empathy and understanding.

  • Teach Coping Strategies: Teach your student practical coping strategies such as deep breathing exercises, mindfulness techniques, or engaging in activities they enjoy.

  • Setting Limits: Establish clear boundaries and expectations for behavior while also providing opportunities for your child to make choices and solve problems independently.

By working together, we can promote emotional regulation by empowering our students to navigate life's ups and downs with resilience and confidence. Thank you for your partnership in this important endeavor.

In partnership,

Sam Ramirez
