Eastview Update
November 7th, 2025
Take Back Togetherness Night on Wednesday, November 12th
Take Back Togetherness Night will be observed throughout our entire district, as an evening deliberately designated to reconnect among families, free from homework and school-sponsored activities. We’re encouraging you to put down your electronic devices, cook a meal, and engage in conversations. Perhaps you’ll visit one of the outstanding restaurants in Avon Lake, have a family chat, play a game, or just enjoy some quality time together. Either way, the Avon Lake City Schools simply wants to affirm your family’s togetherness time, and provide you with an evening such as this, to reclaim some unplugged, and one-on-one interactions with your loved ones.
Notes from the Nurse
It’s cold and flu season, which means viruses are on the rise! I wanted to take the time to send home a few reminders for school attendance and what to be looking out for.
- If your child has diarrhea or vomiting within the past 24 hours, keep them home.
- If your child has a continuous or disruptive cough, keep them home.
- Temperature/fever above 100 F by mouth, keep them home. Students need to be fever free without the use of medication (Tylenol, Advil, Ibuprofen, Acetaminophen) for 24 hours before returning to school.
- Signs of conjunctivitis (Pink Eye) such as red, crusty or swollen eyes, keep them home.
Good health habits like covering your cough and washing your hands often can help stop the spread of germs and prevent respiratory illnesses from spreading in the classroom. If your child continues to be sick, please reach out to your pediatrician for further guidance. Our goal is to keep everyone as healthy as possible, we thank you for your cooperation at home as well.

Congratulations to Eastview on receiving the Ohio PTA Headliners Club Award!
Congratulations to Eastview on receiving the Ohio PTA Headliners Club Award! This award celebrates units having 125 members by the 125th day of the PTA year (July 1st to November 2nd) to celebrate Ohio PTA’s 125 years of child advocacy and family engagement. Ohio PTA was founded in May of 1901 at the National Congress of Mothers convention and we created this Headliners award to celebrate the legacy of Ohio PTA. We are grateful that our legacy includes Eastview Elementary PTA.
PTA’s mission is to make every child’s potential a reality by engaging and empowering families and communities to advocate for all children.
Ohio PTA is over 38,000 voices strong because of your membership efforts. We hope that you are as proud of the good work you are doing in your school and community as we are of you!
We believe that together your PTA along with the other 400+ PTAs in Ohio will make every child’s potential a reality through sharing the power of PTA. PTAs create connections through family school partnerships. PTAs support every child. PTAs amplify your voice to make positive changes in your school, community, and nation.
Congratulations on hitting this membership milestone and I look forward to celebrating more of your PTA’s accomplishments this year.
