May 2026 Newsletter
Dear LMS Families,
Welcome to May. It is hard to believe that we are in the closing weeks of the 2025/2026 school year. It has been an incredible journey watching our students reach new heights through their hard work and dedication. From impressive academic gains to outstanding achievements in the arts and athletics, the growth we have witnessed across all grade levels is truly inspiring. While we reflect on these successes with pride, it is important to remember that our work isn't done just yet. With a few weeks still on the calendar, we encourage every student to maintain their focus and carry this positive momentum all the way to the finish line.
To our 8th graders, congratulations on reaching the final stretch of your middle school journey! This is a pivotal moment as you prepare to transition to high school, and the habits you reinforce now will set the foundation for your success next fall. We urge you to finish strong, stay committed to your studies, and lead by example during these closing weeks. We are so proud of the young adults you are becoming and look forward to celebrating your many accomplishments at the 8th Grade Recognition ceremony on the morning of June 5th.

Counselors' Corner
The summer months are a time for relaxation and fun. Summer also means less structure, routine, and built-in supports for students. We have provided a list of counseling resources for families seeking counseling support over the summer months and beyond.

Assistant Principals' Corner
LMS Families,
As we get close to wrapping up another great year here at LMS, I want to remind you all that expectations for behavior will remain high. Students have done a tremendous job behaviorally this school year and we want that to continue. We just wrapped up our last round of class meetings going over discipline referral numbers and giving kudos to the whole student body. As some grades have behaved better than others, all students have shown growth in this area. We are very lucky to have the students we have here, and it starts at home. Continue to have tough conversations with your students and we will do the same as it definitely takes a village!
We look forward to the end of the year activities and field trips. As a reminder, there are guidelines for our field trips regarding behavior. Some students find themselves very close to not being able to go and they have been reminded. It is a privilege to go on our field trips and we like to celebrate those students who have earned it. As always, if you ever need support or have questions, please do not hesitate to reach out. Have a great end of the year and happy summer!
