Judy Center Early Learning Hub
at Grasonville Elementary School
New Year, New Beginnings!
Dear Judy Center Families,
With the new school year just around the corner, we hope you and your family had a restful, joyful, and fulfilling summer. We are so excited to welcome you back to the Judy Center Early Learning Hub at Grasonville Elementary School! As we prepare for another year of growing, learning, and connecting, I want to extend an invitation—beyond participation—into true partnership.
At the Judy Center, we’re not just preparing children for kindergarten—we’re building strong foundations for life. And that’s a journey we cannot take alone. We need each other—families, caregivers, educators, and community partners—working hand in hand to support the whole child.
Let’s make this school year one where we work together to find solutions, even when things get tough. Let’s prioritize early learning experiences that spark curiosity, foster resilience, and lay the groundwork for lifelong success. And most importantly, let’s raise the bar—together. Every child we serve is filled with potential. We believe in them, and we know you do too.
Our guiding values at the Judy Center—Adapt. Believe. Connect.—will continue to shape our approach this year. We will adapt to meet families where they are, believe in every child’s ability to thrive, and connect meaningfully with you, our partners, to ensure every child gets the best start possible.
We are honored to serve you and your family and look forward to all we will achieve—together—in the year ahead.
What We're Up To
Theme of the Month
On The Go - "Summer Fun"
This month, we’re kicking things off with a fun and engaging theme: “On the Go!” This early childhood education theme is all about movement, transportation, and travel—exploring the fascinating ways we get from here to there, whether by car, train, boat, airplane, or even our own two feet!
Children will dive into hands-on learning activities focused on vehicles, roads, maps, bridges, and more. Through creative play, art, music, sensory exploration, and active movement, they’ll build new vocabulary with words like vehicle, airport, dock, train station, and traffic light. We’ll also keep bodies moving with fun games and activities to keep little learners active and engaged.

🎒 Back-to-School Stress: What to Know & How to Help
The start of a new school year can be exciting—but also stressful—for both children and parents. Kids may feel anxious about new routines, making friends, or the return of schoolwork. You might notice signs like mood changes, trouble sleeping, or avoiding responsibilities.
The good news? You don’t need drastic measures to help your child cope. Simple strategies like sticking to a routine, talking openly about their feelings, getting plenty of rest, and incorporating calming activities (like reading or playtime) can make a big difference.
Parents face their own pressures this time of year—especially when juggling school supplies, aftercare, and everyday expenses. These stressors can affect both emotional and physical health.
Remember: Support, structure, and communication are key. You're not alone—and we're here to help make this transition a positive one for your family.
