A Letter From Head of School Carole McCullough A Letter From Head of School Carole McCullough

Hello SJCA Families,

We're just weeks away from the end of the school year and even closer to graduation.

Over the next few weeks, our seniors will participate in several SJCA traditions that mark the end of their high school journey. May 16 is the last day for our seniors. New this year, we've added the Senior Lecture Series, where teachers will cover different topics with the class on their last day. The day concludes with all of the seniors going outside to celebrate their "final bell."

On May 19, seniors will attend a Baccalaureate Ceremony where they'll receive the regalia worn on graduation day and on May 21, seniors will return to school for our senior parade. For this tradition, scholars in each grade come out of their classrooms, line the halls, and celebrate our seniors as they walk through.

On May 23, our Class of 2025 will graduate.

We have plans to record and share many of these events so everyone can be part of the celebration.

To all of our seniors, congratulations on a job well done. I am so excited for your next chapter.

Ms. Forster's physics classes (grade 11) have been studying the physics of light and mirrors. They recently made solar ovens to bake cookies, utilizing the heat of the sun's rays, the reflective nature of aluminum foil, and the insulating properties of other materials. They built the ovens on a Wednesday and set them up later in the week. They checked their ovens throughout the day and, during sixth period, found that the cookies had baked.

Lunch Menu: May Lunch Menu: May

As we enter the last two full weeks of school, please be mindful of lunch balances. Scholars who are "paid" cannot charge more than $21.25 and scholars who are "reduced" cannot charge more than $2. You can send in cash or check with your scholar, or you can pay online ($3.25 MSB fee).

🆕 Because it slows the service line, scholars will be served the complete menu of the day UNLESS they speak up quickly and loudly when it is their turn at the service line.

✅ If you need or want to set limits on spending, please contact Lunch@stjca.org.
