A MESSAGE FROM THE PRINCIPAL
Hello Montessori families!
We had a surprise extra short week this week! Wow! Still so much happened though! Our PTSA hosted its January meeting and has a lot coming up! We hosted our Lights On, Montessori for prospective families. We had lots of fun in the snow too!
Next week we do not have school on Monday, for teacher Professional Learning. January 27th-30th we are hosting a Scholastic Book Fair! We need volunteers to help run this - so see below! On January 29th, the PTSA is hosting Family Game Night from 6-7:30pm and we have the book fair! Hope to see many of you at Family Game Night!
Have a great weekend!
Elizabeth
Lottery Opens Feb 1
If you have a sibling you are looking to enroll for next year, or a friend you are encouraging to apply, please note the window for the lottery opens February 1st. Families must register their child in ther home school, and then apply for Montessori within Infinite Campus. Siblings do not automatically get in - you must apply for a seat. Siblings do get the first draw for the lottery. If you have questions, please reach out to Nora and Elizabeth.
All School Read
We are excited to announce this year’s All-School Read, featuring two engaging, futuristic novels: The Lion of Mars by Jennifer L. Holm and The Giver by Lois Lowry.
One copy per family of The Lion of Mars will be sent home with your oldest or only student. We invite families to read this book together at home.
Families with students in 6th, 7th, or 8th grade will also receive one copy per family of The Giver, sent home with your oldest or only student. The Giver contains mature and complex themes that some younger readers may find disturbing or difficult to understand. We do not recommend this book for students younger than 6th grade. Students in 6th, 7th, or 8th grade are welcome to choose either book. The Lion of Mars and The Giver are being sent home to families of 6th–8th grade students.
Check your students' backpacks for more information.
Look for more information to come your way about our upcoming Literacy Night celebration on Feb. 18th from 5:30-7 pm.
New Clubs!
We have 2 new student led clubs starting up!
Chess Club will start Monday, February 2nd and meet on Mondays from 3:30-4:30pm. Please bring your own chess board if you have one! This club is open for students in grades 3-8.
Dragon Club will be starting soon! Stay tuned!
