Rodriguez Elementary - September 8

Spencer's Message; September 8th
We have officially completed our third week of school! It has been wonderful to see our classrooms settling into strong learning routines and our students becoming more comfortable with the expectations and rhythms of their school day. Walking through the building, it is exciting to see students engaged in learning, building relationships, and growing more confident and independent each day. We are so proud of the progress our students and teachers are making as we continue to build a strong foundation for the year.
Don’t forget to sign up for our upcoming GrandFriends Bingo Night on September 10th! There is a link below with all of the details. We hope to see many of you there for what is sure to be a fun evening together.
This week is Attendance Spirit Week! We are excited to celebrate the importance of being at school every day, ready to learn and participate. Be sure to check out the flyer below for all of the fun ways students can join in throughout the week. We hope everyone will participate and help us make this a fun week of celebrating great attendance!
As we continue to fine-tune our dismissal routines, we want to share an update to our procedures for families who meet their students as walkers. Beginning this week, parents meeting walkers will need to bring their parent pick-up tags with them, if you don't have one please contact the office and we will get you a new one.
Parents meeting walkers should wait for their students either at the trees next to the bus loop, closer to the dumpsters, or at the crosswalk. Please do not have students leave the walker group to cut through the grass. If your student will be getting into a car, please make sure your car is parked in a designated parking spot before having your student leave the walker group. These procedures help us keep our students safe and ensure that dismissal remains organized and consistent for everyone.
Thank you for your support, patience, and partnership as we continue to establish routines and make adjustments that help keep our students safe. We are off to a wonderful start, and I am so excited to see all that this school year will bring!

HOCO Info for Elementary
The homecoming football game will be September 11th. Rodriguez students may wear mums on that day. IF your child will be wearing a mum to school, please tape the clapper inside any bells before they come to school. Also, please practice with your child taking their mum off and putting it back on. They will need to remove it before PE and recess to help avoid injuries and broken mums. SMHS is hosting a homecoming parade, look for information from the PTO about Rodriguez's opportunity to participate in the parade.
What's to Eat?
Breakfast- If your student it eating breakfast at school and does not have a school badge please let your child's teacher or the front office know and we will get them a new one. Scanning the badge makes the breakfast line move more quickly. :)
