Families and staff,

Thank you for supporting your students outside of school over these last two days. We want to touch base today with some clarifications and reminders.

First, there is no school tomorrow. The day was originally a non-student day set aside for teachers to complete report cards. Upon return from the strike, we will provide an update about timing on first-quarter grades.

Second, there are no school meals tomorrow. Information on dates and times for meals is available here.

Third, we’ve gotten questions from families about why PAT and the District are not bargaining today. After asking the mediator assigned to our negotiations if she would bring us back together on Wednesday and Thursday, she scheduled the two parties to come back together Friday. We have consistently said to her and to you, our community, that our bargaining team would meet whenever -- Wednesday, Thursday, day, night, etc. That's still true, but given her scheduling decision, we chose to alert families earlier yesterday so that you could make arrangements further in advance for today.

Finally, we will be meeting with PAT’s bargaining team and the mediator tomorrow – and we hope over the weekend as well. We sincerely hope we can reach an agreement and reopen schools Monday. We plan to email and text you Sunday (Nov. 5) at 7pm to share plans for Monday, November 6.

Please continue to access our continuing resources and to pose any questions you have.

Best,

Dr. Cheryl Proctor
