The United States Military Academy, West Point, will be on campus Wednesday, December 3rd at 10:00. If you have a student that is interested in attending a service academy after high school, this is a great opportunity for them to come ask questions and find out more about the application process. The application process takes a while and should be started during their Junior year of high school. Sign up in Naviance to attend.

SENIORS!! Remember to request your transcripts through Naviance. Select Initial transcript only. This is the only way your transcript will be sent. You will have the opportunity in May to select which one institution will receive your final transcript. All transcripts cost $1.00 and must be paid in cash by the end of the semester. Please see Mrs. McCaw if you have questions.

Transcript Fees are now due in the College & Career Center. Fees must be paid in cash. No credit cards or My School Bucks Accepted.

The 11th annual UNC Future Teacher Conference is Friday, February 6, 2026.

This free conference is designed to help aspiring teachers learn more about the field, connect with peers and gather insights from Colorado’s leader in teacher education. We will also be welcoming back Steve Spangler as our keynote speaker to host an interactive start to our event that your students are sure to love!

Now in its 11th year, Future Teacher Conference features presentations and workshops facilitated by preservice teachers (current UNC students), early career teachers, veteran educators, and UNC Educator Preparation faculty.

Students with the following interests are especially encouraged to attend!

• Early Childhood Education
• Elementary Education
• Secondary Education: Social Studies, English, Science, and Family and Consumer Sciences
• Special Education
• Culturally and Linguistically Diverse Education
• K-12 Education: Art, Music, Physical Education and Physical Activity Leadership, and Theatre
• Educational Technology
• Anyone curious or exploring the field of teaching!

Registration will open November 3. You can learn more about the conference here. BONUS! Three Future Teacher Conference attendees will be selected to receive a $1,000 scholarship to attend UN in the fall of 2026.

The Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) Scholarships are now open. There are local and national scholarships offered. Some scholarship categories include education, Military families, nursing and many others. This year there will be ten one time awards of $25,000 each awarded in the America 250! category.
