Fall Forward: Reflect, Reset and Plan for What’s Next Fall Forward: Reflect, Reset and Plan for What’s Next

Fall always feels like a natural time to reflect, reset and start thinking about what comes next. This month, I’ll be attending our annual conference, and I’m looking forward to connecting with other coaches, learning from industry experts and bringing back new ideas, resources and insights that I can share with my clients. Just as I encourage my clients to stay curious and open to possibilities, I’m always looking for ways to learn, grow and become a better coach.

October is also when many of us start looking toward the end of the year and asking whether we’re where we hoped we would be. If your career, income, lifestyle or sense of security still isn’t where you want it to be, now is a great time to start thinking about what you may want to change in 2027. You don’t need to have all the answers today, but the decisions and exploration you begin now can put you in a very different position when the new year arrives.

All my best!

Make An Impact: Client Referral Program Make An Impact: Client Referral Program

As we head into the last quarter of 2026, I'd like to ask one small favor.

If our coaching conversations have helped you gain clarity, confidence, or simply see new possibilities for your future, would you consider introducing me to someone you care about?

You probably know someone who feels stuck, burned out, facing a layoff, or questioning whether there's something more beyond traditional employment. They don't need to be ready to own a business. They just need to be open to exploring what's possible.

One introduction could be the conversation that changes the direction of their career and their life.

As a special continuation of my 4th Anniversary Thank You, I'm doubling my referral reward from $250 to $500 for every qualified client referred during the month of October who meets the requirements of my

Client Referral Program. Click here to view the program details and eligibility requirements.

Thank you for trusting me with your journey, and for helping others discover that they have more options than they may realize.

Made 4 More Mondays – Did You Miss It? Made 4 More Mondays – Did You Miss It?

One of last month's Made 4 More Mondays episodes was a little more personal, as I reflected on the decision I made four years ago to take a chance on myself.

Looking back, I realize I didn’t suddenly become capable when I became a business owner. I was capable long before I believed I was. Like many professionals, I spent years building experience, leading teams, solving problems, making decisions, and creating results for someone else’s business. Sometimes the biggest hurdle isn’t whether we’re capable. It’s believing we’re ready to use those skills to build something of our own.

So I’ll leave you with the same question I asked in the video: Four years from now is coming either way. Where do YOU want to be when it gets here?

Three Paths to Business Ownership: Which One Fits You? Three Paths to Business Ownership: Which One Fits You?

When people think about business ownership, they often assume it means coming up with a great idea and starting something from scratch. But that’s only one path.

Start from scratch. You create the concept, brand, customers and processes yourself. And yes, consulting falls into this category. You may already have the expertise, but you’re not simply going to be consulting. You’re starting a business. That means marketing, sales, lead generation, pricing, contracts, technology, accounting and all the other pieces required to find clients and run a company. You have significant freedom, but you’re also building the playbook as you go.

Buy an existing business. You may step into existing revenue, customers, employees and operations. But you also inherit the business as it exists today, which means understanding its financial health, reputation, people and potential for future growth.

Invest in a franchise. You own the business while operating within an established model. You typically receive training, systems, processes and ongoing support, allowing you to focus more on leading and growing the business rather than figuring everything out from scratch.

So, which path is best?

There isn’t one. The better question is: What do you want business ownership to do for you?

Income goals, lifestyle, flexibility, control, scalability, equity and risk tolerance all matter. So does understanding what you can comfortably invest, how you might fund the business, how much working capital you need, how long you can support yourself during the ramp-up, and what the business ultimately needs to produce financially. The right path has to fit both the future you want to create and the financial reality of getting there.

If traditional employment isn’t giving you what you want anymore, you don’t have to know the answer today. You just have to be open to learning what your options are.
