TRUST NEWS
Excellent KS2 Results & Attendance Across Our Trust!
Weβre proud to share that our 2024/25 Trust-wide KS2 results once again exceed national standards in all areas β a testament to the hard work of our pupils and staff. π
And with a Trust-wide attendance rate of 96%, our results confirm, as research shows, strong attendance supports strong achievement.
Partnership Working Across Early Years
This year as a Trust we have invested time and resources in order to develop our Early Years settings across all schools. EYFS staff had the opportunity to attend training led by Early Excellence and Learning Talking, alongside carrying out peer reviews, to work collaboratively and share good practice.
We have developed highly effective approaches to teaching and learning by creating high quality continuous and enhanced provision alongside directed activities. The impact can be seen in our EYFS outcomes, 'Good Level of Development' 71%.

Primary Science Quality Mark
Congratulations to all seven of our Trust schools who have now been successfully accredited with the Primary Science Quality Mark.
Associate Professor Jane Turner, PSQM National Director said: βPrimary schools have an important role to ensure that children understand how science works and keeps us and our planet healthy and safe. Schools that have achieved a Primary Science Quality Mark have demonstrated a significant commitment to science teaching and learning. Science subject leaders, their colleagues, head teachers, children, parents and governors should be very proud.β

Science Masterclass at St Bonaventure's and St Angela's organised by the Trust
We thank St Bonaventure's and St Angela's for delivering an excellent Science Master Class to pupils across the Trust in Year 5. The children had a thoroughly enjoyable time in the Science labs developing their knowledge and practical skills.
They carried out experiments and investigations, learning how to observe and record their findings and interpret the results. In one particularly enjoyable experiment, they heated food with a Bunsen burner and then measured the temperature and energy given off.
The children enjoyed visiting these outstanding schools and having the chance to do these exciting experiments in the science labs. Each pupil received an OLOG pin to mark their participation and graduation from the Science Master Class.
Pope Leo XIV invites Citizens UK Schools To Rome
On the 24th to 26th June 2025, a contingent of 30 representatives from five Catholic schools across England and Wales comprising staff, pupils and organisers from Citizens UK were invited for a special audience with His Holiness Pope Leo XIV. Among this group, was St Antony's Head Teacher Mrs Angela Moore, Master Chan and two Year 6 pupil leaders, Ariana and Tega.
During the audience with Pope Leo XIV at the Vatican in Rome, the pupils had the opportunity to share the campaign efforts with the Holy Father, who listened attentively and offered his prayers and blessing on their work. He also gave a public endorsement to Citizens UK as a βCatholic Movementβ at Wednesdayβs General Audience in St Peterβs Square.
St Antonyβs has been involved with community organising through Citizens UK for the past 10 years, with particular focus on the Living Wage and Affordable Housing campaigns, two issues which affect many pupils and families across the Trust's schools.

Fundraising for St John Bosco camp
St Joachim's Primary School's Headteacher, Mr James Allen and his brother, John took on the spectacular challenge of cycling from London to Brighton on a tandem bicycle to raise funds for the St John Bosco Children's Camps!
With some supporting riders, including St Helen's Teaching Assistant Joseph Allen, they completed the sixty mile ride on the 15th June, and raised a fantastic Β£1925.
This money will go towards enabling children, including our own KS2 pupils, to enjoy an adventurous holiday at the camp. During their stay they are helped to develop their independence, social and team skills, within the supportive and spiritual environment.

A Wonderful Year of Singing Across Our Trust
As the school year comes to a close, weβre proud to look back on the many singing events our Trust schools have taken part in. From local performances to national competitions, our pupils have shared their voices, lifted spirits, and made lasting memories.
π΅ Last September, St Antonyβs Performing Arts Choir won the National School Song Competition 2024, standing out from over a thousand entries with their original school song. What an achievement!
π€ At Christmas, pupils from St Edwardβs and St Antonyβs performed at Newham Hospitalβs lights switch-on. Their singing brought festive cheer to staff and patients, and the visit was even featured as the top story in the Newham Recorder.
πΆFebruary brought more success, with St Francisβ School Choir winning the first ever Newham Primary Choir of the Year Competition. One pupil shared how proud she was to represent her school and how much fun they had singing and dancing at the event.
π΅ In March, children from St Edwardβs, St Joachimβs and St Winefrideβs sang beautifully, in front of many dignitaries, at the Commonwealth Day Wreath Laying Ceremony at Hyde Park Corner.
π€ St Michaelβs pupils took part in the amazing Young Voices concert at the O2 Arena, joining thousands of children from across the country. It was an unforgettable experience, showing how music builds teamwork, creativity, and confidence.
πΆ Finally, in June, pupils from St Helen's and St Joachim's joined over 200 children at the Hackney Empire for the Festival of Voices. Singing uplifting songs like βOh Happy Dayβ and βLa Bamba,β the evening was full of joy and energy, showing how music can bring people together.
Itβs been a fantastic year of music across our schools. Singing has helped our children grow in confidence, connect with others, and share joy with their communities. We look forward to even more music-making next year!

Trust pupils plant trees in memory of Pope Francis
Children in all of our Trust schools have taken part in a tree planting ceremony, in their school grounds, in memory of our late Pope Francis.
Next to the newly planted tree, the children have placed a plaque bearing Pope Francisβ name along with these inspiring words:
βWe carry out his mission by living wisely, thinking deeply, and loving generously.β
This living tribute serves as a reminder of his enduring legacy and the values he championed.
