NEW CHECK IN/OUT SYSTEM!
COOLER WEATHER COMING OUR WAY!
Next week we will actually be in the double digits for temps. Yahoo! With the cooler weather heading our way we will not be holding inside recess any longer for those that chose to stay indoors. We have shade structures if kids want to get out of the sun. Please be sure to send water bottles with your Gator so they can stay hydrated. Thank you!
STUDENTS AND STAFF MUST WEAR IDs!
Hello Gator Families,
Last year GPS started a district mandate that all students and staff must wear their school IDs on campus.
IDs are needed for...
-the safety of our students
-the bus
-the library
and
-the cafeteria
Please be sure your Gator comes to school with their lanyard with ID everyday. We can print a temporary sticker if they forget for the day but if the ID is lost they will need to have it replaced. The first replacement is free but after that it will be $5 per replacement. Thank you for your help with this so we can keep all our Gators safe!
Constitution, & Sandra Day O'Conner Days!
We have some very important days coming up that our Gators will be learning about.
9/17 Constitution Day: recognizes the adoption of the U.S. Constitution and those who have become American citizens.
9/25 Sandra Day O'Connor Day: we celebrate Justice Sandra Day O'Connor who was the first woman appointed to the Supreme Court in 1981 where she served until 2006 when she retired. She remained active as a tireless advocate for judicial independence and the Rule of Law throughout the world.
We will be setting aside some time on these days to reflect and learn about these historic events.

All 6th graders who turn 12 need to be vaccinated for Tdap and Meningitis. Dr. offices generally give these vaccines at age 11. Once your child turns 12 ,you will have no longer than 2 weeks to bring me the vaccine records or your child will be excluded from school.
