Principal's Corner
Our first full week is in the books!
It has been very busy here at FES! We have learned how to enter the classroom and get settled in for the day. We have learned where the classroom materials are and what to do when a grown does a clapping pattern. The teachers are busy learning all about your child and their learning styles. This week we had Art with our new art teacher, Ms. Gentilhomme (Ms. G).
There was a wonderful turnout for our Meet & Greet on Wednesday. The first of a monthly series of meetings with Mrs. Mann, Principal of FES will happen on September 14 from 6:30-7:30. Each month will have a different topic. The topic for this month will be "Ways to Get Involved at FES".
The beginning of the year is chalk full of new things. There are many new staff members, and with that comes many new routines to learn. We are also in year 2 of a new math program called Illustrative Math, and year 1 for our new literacy program called CKLA (Core Knowledge Language Arts). New students have joined us as well. That is a lot of "new". We are working on patience and flexibility right now.
We also appreciate all of the patience and flexibility that the families of FES are also showing us! After day 1 the staff adjusted a few things to keep the building running smoothly. I imagine we will spend the next few weeks continuing to adjust as we go.
The FES PTO provided the beautiful display for photos on the first day of school. They work so hard to provide many supplies and experiences for our students. They are planning their first meeting for September 8 at 5:15 at the FES Library. Please reach out to Maureen maureentroy@gmail.com) if you would like more information.

Meet Ms. Gentilhomme
Hello! My name is Caroline Gentilhomme and I am the new art teacher for FES, DCS, Pierce, TES, GES, and HES. I grew up in New Hampshire and then moved around to explore the world a bit. I earned my BFA from Savannah College of Art and Design in 2020. I started my journey into education as a permanent substitute at Exeter High School where I found a passion for teaching. I earned my education license through Upper Valley Educators Institute. I went on to teach at East Derry Memorial Elementary School. Now Iβm excited to explore art with all these wonderful students in the ConVal school district. My goals are to build their confidence, explore their curiosity and creativity, and help them grow their skills as artists and people.
