Coming Soon: ParentSquare
A Simpler, Unified Way to Stay Connected with DISD!
Dear Decatur ISD Families and Staff,
At Decatur ISD, staying connected with you is essential to supporting our students. Whether it’s emergency alerts, classroom updates, or news from your child’s teacher, clear and reliable communication keeps our school community strong.
This fall, Decatur ISD is transitioning our communications tools to a modern, all-in-one platform called ParentSquare!
Why ParentSquare?
ParentSquare brings all district, school, and classroom communications together into one central hub—eliminating the need to navigate multiple apps like ClassDojo, Remind, or sportsYou.
Here is what ParentSquare will mean for your family:
One Central App: Access district alerts, campus newsletters, athletic updates, and classroom news in one place.
Direct 2-Way Messaging: Easily text or message teachers, coaches, and staff directly.
Automatic Translation: Receive messages in your preferred language—with nearly 200 languages available instantly.
Flexible Delivery Options: Choose how and when you receive non-urgent notifications (instant alerts or a single daily evening digest to reduce inbox clutter).
Convenient Features: Complete digital forms, electronic signatures, permission slips, and payments securely within the system.
No App Required: If you choose not to download the app, you can still receive and reply to communications seamlessly via standard text message or email.
A Phased Rollout (No Sudden Cutoffs)
We know adjusting to new tools takes time, so we are rolling ParentSquare out gradually over the coming weeks and months:
No immediate changes today: Current tools will remain active until your campus or activity fully transitions.
Pilot Program: A pilot program begins in September at the STEM Academy at Enis Elementary and with a few other individual teachers and staff throughout the district.
Gradual Expansion: Smore newsletters will transition in October, followed by mass district messages, class messaging, and our new district website over late fall and winter. (Note: DecaturEagles.net and Athletics payment systems will remain unchanged for the 2026–27 school year).
What’s Next?
You do not need to take any action right now. As your child’s campus or program prepares to launch, you will receive additional information at that time.
If you have any questions, please feel free to submit them through our online feedback form. We will use these questions to create a FAQ document for families and staff.
Thank you for your partnership as we streamline communication across Decatur ISD!
Sincerely,
Decatur ISD Department of Communications
