WINTHROP WEEKLY

WINTHROP WEEKLYOctober 14th, 2025

Embracing the Changing Seasons and Our Partnership

Dear Parents and Caregivers,

As the seasons change and we approach cooler temperatures, we want to remind everyone about the importance of keeping our students warm. Students will continue to enjoy outdoor recess time, so please ensure your child is dressed appropriately each day. Layers, hats, and gloves, as needed, are always a great idea!

We sincerely appreciate your continued efforts in helping the school day run smoothly. Thank you for making sure students arrive on time in the morning and for your promptness at dismissal. The flow of drop-off and pick-up is currently working very well, and we are grateful for your cooperation. Our staff members are dedicated to being visible and present to assist, greet, and ensure a smooth transition for all students.

It's important for our community to know that all staff here at Winthrop dedicate significant time and energy to support the safety of our students and cultivate a positive and comfortable atmosphere, especially during these crucial transition times. We are focused on our core theme of adaptability and flexibility, as we know these skills are critical for growth and learning during the elementary school years.

We are always here to listen and help. If you are experiencing any specific challenges or have concerns, please do not hesitate to reach out to us.

Thank you for everything you do as parents and caregivers. Please know that your partnership is a critical piece to your child's success here at Winthrop School. We take this collaboration and responsibility extremely seriously.

Take Care,

Winthrop School Administration

Beginning on Monday, October 27th, educators will be available for extra help sessions. During this time, students may come in specifically to work on classroom assignments and/or receive additional practice with learned skills. We appreciate your support in allowing this to be a time focused on academic development. Please reach out to your student’s teachers for more information about the timing of their extra help session, should your child need to meet with them.

Sand!!

The preschool sandbox has a fresh layer of sand, thanks to the combined efforts of the Miles River Sand and Gravel, the Ipswich DPW, and some dedicated families who showed up on the Saturday of a long weekend.
