Mahpiya Luta High School
Week of May 4, 2026
Mitakuyepi,
Congratulations to those of you who were part of Dracula this past weekend! You all did an amazing job. Thank you to Madison and Amy for all the work, time, and effort put into guiding, coaching, and supporting the cast and crew.
Reminder for Seniors: if you have a sports uniform (basketball, football, cheerleading, track, volleyball), you'll need to return it in order to be checked out. We are still waiting on four Seniors to turn their chromebooks in as well. You'll get them back when we are done resetting them.
9th-11th Grades: You have six days of school left with finals happening on Wednesday and Thursday of this week. The schedule is in this newsletter. Here is the finals policy.
14.6. FINAL EXAMS POLICY
2. Students are required to be present during their scheduled final exams. If there is a known absence/pre-approved absence, it is Mahpiya Luta's preference that students take their final exams early at the approval and coordination of administration. Students with an unexcused absence during a final exam will receive a “0.”
4. If a student is suspended during one or all days of finals, they will not be allowed to make up their finals for any credit and will receive a “0.”
Senior Parents: Baccalaureate and Awards Banquet is on Thursday, May 7. Mass will start at 5:00 in the church. The meal will start at 5:45 in the field house, followed by the awards banquet. Senior Banquet guests limit: 4.
On graduation day: Seniors must be there by 8:00 am. We will start lining up for pictures at 9:00 and begin walking to the field house afterward.
We will have 4 chairs reserved for family members of each Senior, but you can invite as many guests to sit in the bleachers as you'd like.

ASP Study Hall

Everyday Study Hall
Immediately following lunch.
*****************************
Study hall expectations:
- Relatives are working quietly and on their own, in their assigned seat (it is not a social hour or a time to play computer games)
- If relatives need help in a particular subject, they can receive a pass to work with that subject's teacher before study hall time
- If they are all caught up in their classes, they are welcome to read a book of their choice, draw, or have quiet free time on their own
- If they are disruptive, even after a reminder of the expectations, they will receive a write up. If the behavior continues, they will be asked to work in the office
Study hall is meant to be a time to focus on their school work. We encourage everyone to adhere to the study hall expectations and focus on successfully finishing the semester.

If you have any concerns about your child, our counselors would be happy to provide additional counseling support for your child. Please email counselorsmlhs@mahpiyaluta.org to share any counseling concerns about your child and then one of our counselors will get back to you and then follow up by providing counseling support for your child. Students can also request in school to see either counselor.
