Attendance Awareness Month
Every Day Matters!
September is Attendance Awareness Month!
As we begin a new school year, Berkeley County Schools is reminding families that every school day is an opportunity to learn, grow, connect and succeed.
There are 180 days in a school year—and every day matters. Missing just a few days can make it harder for students to keep up with classroom learning, complete assignments and stay connected with teachers and friends.
That’s why we’re encouraging every student and family to Strive for Less Than 5 Absences! Our goal is to help students be at school as often as possible so they can make the most of every opportunity to learn and be part of their school community.
Just Because You’re Here!
This year, we’re adding a little extra fun to attendance. Throughout the school year, students can look forward to surprise “Just Because You’re Here” Days!
On these special days, students who are at school may be recognized, participate in special activities or receive fun incentives. You never know when a “Just Because You’re Here” Day might happen—so every day is a great day to be at school!
Regular attendance helps students build important habits like responsibility, focus and perseverance. Most importantly, showing up gives students more opportunities to learn, build relationships and experience everything their school has to offer.
Thank you for partnering with us to make attendance a priority. Together, we can help every student RISE—Reach Individual Success Every day!
