Warrior Wire

Greetings, Warrior Families!

Two weeks are in the books, and the students are displaying their commitment to serve every day! I hope everyone enjoys the upcoming Labor Day holiday and know that much of the next couple of weeks is designed for our students to start settling into their routine, and to continue the exponential growth of their knowledge in the different content areas.

Also, as we continue to work out our family routines for the start of the school year, we do have one request: please do not order food for your child to be delivered to the school (i.e. pizza delivery, Door Dash, Favor, etc.). There are issues concerning the necessity of your child having to be pulled from class in order to meet a stranger in the front office for food; and most delivery drivers have requested that we put a message out regarding not scheduling deliveries to a student during school hours. We just want to make sure that students are maximizing his/her learning time.

Meet the Teacher will take place this next Wednesday at 6pm. This is an evening to meet the teacher, obtain information about the class, and follow your students' schedule. We will be running a shortened bell schedule, beginning with 1st period, so that you have time to meet all of your child's teachers. If you do not have a copy of your child's schedule and they will not be with you, please have your student log into their Skyward account and take a picture of their current class schedule so you have that available. Unfortunately, due to time limitations, this evening cannot be individual parent-teacher conference time; however, if you would like to set up a time to meet with a teacher individually, teachers will have a contact form available for you to fill in your information to be contacted directly. For those in attendance that evening, below is a bell schedule for the evening

We look forward to seeing everyone!

With Warrior Pride!

Week 3:

Warriors’ Attendance Matters!

September is National Attendance Awareness Month! We will be talking up the importance of consistent school attendance all month long and the positive impact it has on your students’ success!

Attending School Regularly:

• Fosters a classroom community between teachers and students.
• Leads to academic success.
• Allows for students to gain knowledge from classroom instruction and discussions.
• Provides time for social interactions with peers.
• Empowers students to become more engaged and involved in classroom and extracurricular activities.

Attend Today – Thrive Today, Tomorrow, and Beyond!

9th graders will take the PSAT 8/9 on October 4th . 10th and 11th graders will take the PSAT/NMSQT on October 11th. If you have a senior THAT HAS NOT YET TAKEN THE SAT, email Amy Bachmeyer at amy.bachmeyer@comalisd.org. They will need to take the SAT on paper on October 11th.

PSAT 8/9 and PSAT/NMSQT are online this year. If you have SSD accommodations approved for these tests, please see the below flyer.
