Madonna Catholic School News

Dear Madonna Families,

This week’s Gospel from Luke reminds us that God gives us our minds, hearts, and talents to make good choices. Jesus praises the man in the story for thinking carefully and acting wisely.

As a school staff we are always trying to model that we can do the same by pausing before we act, showing kindness, and choosing what is right even when it’s hard. Together, we try to use the gifts God has given us to make our school a place where everyone feels loved and cared for.

This past week has been a very faith filled time at Madonna. Our prayer club started up again on Wednesday during the morning recess block. We had over 25 students come to our chapel to pray with our OLPH Parish volunteers. We are truly belssed for their support. On the same day our grade 4 students went to Camp Van Es for a nature and faith filled day. Fr Jim came and led mass at which he presented each child with their own blessed bible. And finally on Thursday our school bussed to Archbishop Jordan Catholic High School where we met with our ABJ high school leaders who joined us in mass outside on the football field. Check out our Facebook page to see more pictures from these events!

With gratitude,

Mrs. Cathy Hinger, Principal

Parent Consent Forms

It is that time of year again when we need parents to log into your Powerschool account and fill out your yearly consent for technology use, communication and fieldtrips. Please note that these forms must be completed before your child's first field trip or they may be unable to participate.

If you have not filled out the Demographic form sent out in June please complete it. This gives the school the most current information for your child and family. Alberta Ed requires families to complete this form yearly.

Thank you for taking time to do this. Should you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact Mrs. Gaudet, Madonna's fantastic secretary.

A special thank you to the generous support of the Feigel family. Two weeks ago they took the intiiave to clean up the old dead weeds in our basketball court and install new basketball nets for our students. Thsi along has sparked a great interest in the sport and allowed us to lower two nets for our younger students to now enageg in some cooperative ball play. We greatly appreicate you seeing a need in our school community and generously sharing your time and resources to meet that need. Our students are the real winners here and they woudl like to say, "THANK YOU!"
