School Supply Fee
Please note that the school supply fee goes up to $40 after THIS WEEK. If you are not sure if your child has paid, please reach out to your child's Advisory teacher or the front office. You may pay cash/check in person, use the QR code, or pay on the SMS Website here.
If you need to set up a payment system, such as $5 or $10/week, please do so now to lock in the $30.
ALL of our students received supplies the first week, and we rely on this fee to cover binders, personal earbuds, dividers, folders, paper, pencils, highlighters, erasers, markers, IDs, and lanyards. We appreciate your support!
Quarterly Reading Challenge
Our 1st Quarter Reading Challenge kicks off this week. Students will be learning about this when they visit the library with their Language Arts teacher this week. Be sure to ask your students if they picked up a copy by the end of the week!
Middle School Parenting Tips
One of the biggest problems administrators deal with is conflict caused by group chats or inappropriate pics and videos being sent peer-to-peer. Since we don't allow phones, most of this is happening after school and often late night. If you think your middle schooler is too young to be on the receiving or sending end of this, think again. By the time most of us (parents) got our first Smartphone we were adults. It's a different frontier with social media apps like Snapchat and secret apps, which can be unsafe for preteens/young teens. Middle schoolers who have a Smartphone need guidance and boundaries.
