Week Three
Dear Families,
It’s hard to believe we’ve already reached the end of Week 3 of Boys College!
This week’s theme was Sustaining My Community, and our essential question was:
“How can I help plants and animals within my community?”
Our scholars spent the week exploring the important role that living things play in maintaining healthy communities. We learned about the vital work of bees and how they help pollinate plants that support both people and wildlife. The boys also studied the life and contributions of Charles Henry Turner, a pioneering Black entomologist whose research helped us better understand insect behavior and the natural world.
One of the highlights of the week was our birding adventure, where students practiced observing nature and identifying birds in their environment. Back at school, they applied their learning by investigating the best location for our class bug house, thinking carefully about what insects need to thrive and how we can create a welcoming habitat.
It has been an exciting week filled with curiosity, exploration, and hands-on learning. Most importantly, our scholars are beginning to see that caring for the environment is one way they can make a positive impact on their communities. Below you'll find more highlights from our week.
Thank you for your continued support of Boys College. We look forward to another week of learning, leadership, and growth!
