A MESSAGE FROM MRS. PITTSER, SUPERINTENDENT
Hello MT Families. We hope your summertime fun is underway. We sincerely appreciate your support in successfully concluding the school year on a positive note. As our administrative team plans for the upcoming school year, we would like to share information pertaining to ESSER projects that are expected to be underway soon.
In an earlier email to all school community members, we reiterated the purpose of the ESSER funds, which is to address the impact of the coronavirus pandemic and help sustain the operation of schools. As a reminder, all ESSER allocations include criteria for spending, and these funds cannot be added to a district’s general fund.
Those who have visited campus recently have noticed the newly designed pathways to connect campus facilities. The allocation of ESSER funds has made it possible to fund these pathways, enhancing safety for students and community members.
Two additional ESSER projects that will support overall school operations and provide students with extended opportunities are the creation of outdoor learning spaces. The development of one of these prospective outdoor learning areas is anticipated to take place behind the existing MTES playground area, while the other outdoor learning space is planned to be established behind MTHS.
Both of these ESSER projects offer learning areas that will serve as extensions to the classroom settings. Ultimately, they will create outdoor learning environments that will bring value to our students, families and community in the years to come.
