Principal's Update

Secret Announcers

A week ago, we kicked off a fun and mysterious "Secret Announcer Challenge" at school! Each day, a surprise voice has been leading our morning announcements, and students in each classroom have been submitting their guesses on who they think the secret announcer might be. It's been an exciting way to start our mornings and build some school spirit! Be sure to ask your child who they think the secret announcers have been! We will announce the winning class at the end of this week.

Field Day Lunches

Field Day is scheduled for Thursday, June 5th with a rain date of Monday, June 9th. Your child(ren) are welcome to pack a peanut, tree nut, and sesame-safe lunch from home , or order a school lunch. The school cafeteria will be serving pizza. As always, lunch is free, but if your child would like to order an extra slice of pizza there is a cost of an additional $1.25. Please return the completed lunch form by Friday, May 30th.

  • The final Stay and Play of the year will be held May 30th from dismissal until 5 pm. We will have bounce houses and the Kona Ice truck! Siblings are welcomed! Reminder that this is not a drop-off event and a guardian must be present with the children during the entire event - what better reason to sign-up to volunteer at the event! If your child plans to attend, please fill out the dismissal form. A separate form is needed for each child. Changes to dismissal for Stay and Play will not be accepted after 9am on Thursday May 29th.

Show Your Appreciation for Our Amazing Vinal Staff! We’re incredibly fortunate to have an exceptional team of dedicated teachers and staff who make a difference every day. As we head off to summer, we want to ensure that our Vinal staff feels valued, appreciated, and supported.

As a token of our gratitude, we’re organizing an end-of-year raffle for the staff during the final week of school. Every staff member will receive tickets to enter and win prizes as a small way to say, “Thank you!” How You Can Help: We’re seeking donations of items or monetary contributions to make this raffle a special one. If any families, neighborhoods, or businesses wish to support this effort, you can drop off raffle items at 15 Old Oaken Bucket or send monetary donations via our website or Venmo (@vinalpto). Thank you for helping us show our Vinal staff just how much they mean to our community!

Want to send a note of appreciation to the teachers? We will be putting up a gratitude wall in the Vinal lobby with notes from students and families - you can send along a note of appreciation at the PTO website which we will add to the wall! Children will have the ability to leave their notes on the wall as well. Feel free to call out a specific staff member or teacher in your note - or not! It's up to you!

Calling all 4th Grade families! The 5th Grade Send Off Ceremony is on Thursday, June 12th and we're looking for 5 (or more!) 4th grade parent volunteers to help break down the ceremony to allow fifth grade parents to take photos with their families, and head over to the after-party to check-in their student(s). And as a bonus, you'll get a preview of the event you'll be planning next year! Please email Erin at vinal5thgradesendoff2025@gmail.com if you're interested and able to help out around 6:45pm on June 12.
