Northview Familia,

I am thrilled to share some exciting updates from Northview High School!

First and foremost, I am proud to announce that our school has achieved an outstanding average daily attendance rate of 97.2% for the week of 2/19 to 2/23! This remarkable statistic reflects the dedication and commitment of our students to their education, as well as the support of our staff and community.

In recent weeks, our students have had incredible opportunities for enrichment and growth outside the classroom. Ms. Docazal's Spanish class embarked on a cultural excursion to Olvera Street, immersing themselves in the rich heritage of the city of Los Angeles.

Our talented Marching Band had the honor of performing at an Ontario Reign hockey game, showcasing their musical prowess and school spirit to a wider audience. Such performances not only highlight the artistic talent of our students but also strengthen their teamwork and dedication to excellence. Check out some of their performances HERE and HERE.

Additionally, our FAME academy class embarked on an unforgettable journey to Warner Brother Studios, where they had the opportunity to explore the magic of filmmaking firsthand. This behind-the-scenes tour provided valuable insights into the entertainment industry and inspired our students to pursue their passions and dreams.

Our boys basketball team played in the CIF SS Division 4A Championship game at Toyota Arenas and will play on Tuesday night as part of the 2024 CIF State Division 4 Boys Basketball Championships.

Our Boys and Girls Wrestling teams continued their dominance in the sport this weekend as well. We had 6 girls and 4 boys qualify for state championships, with Sonny Acuna placing 6th in state, Samantha Rivera placing 6th in state, and Faith Bartoszek earning the title of state champion in her weight class.

These experiences exemplify Northview High School's commitment to providing a well-rounded education that extends beyond the confines of the classroom. By offering diverse opportunities for exploration and discovery, we empower our students to become lifelong learners and global citizens.

As always, I extend my heartfelt gratitude to our dedicated faculty and staff for their unwavering support and dedication to our students' success. Together, we will continue to nurture a culture of excellence and innovation at Northview High School.

Thank you for your continued support and involvement in our school community.

Have a great week, Vikings!

AVID Future Ready AVID Future Ready

Our AVID students are provided with fun opportunities all year! Not only do we get to visit college campuses throughout the year, we also get to visit Knott's Berry Farm. Our students are provided with a fun "AVID student only" event. The park closed at 8 pm to the public and our students were able to enjoy the park completely to themselves. They had a blast! This is one of the many perks of being in AVID. If your student is interested in being in AVID please talk to their counselor. We are now accepting applications for the next academic year.

Josh Stragier is our Athletic Custodian here at The View. He has helped keep our campus clean and athletic grounds maintained for the last 5 years.

Josh has a great rapport with students here on campus and really enjoys calling Northview his home away from home. When Josh is not on campus he is quiet the thrill seeker. He enjoys skydiving and very humbly became the Brazilian Jiu Jitsu World Champion last year.

His thrill seeking hobbies may be put on the back burner for a while though. Josh and his wife just became first time parents to a beautiful baby girl, Jemma. Congrats on the new journey of parenthood and thank you for your hard work.
