Lutherville Lab Report

Lutherville Families,

It was great to be reunited with our Leopards this week! I am so proud of how smoothly everyone was able to get into learning routines and the joy at students seeing all their friends again.

The highlight of our week, and one of the highlights of our year was that ROARIN Run on Thursday! We are indebted to our PTA partners and the Related Arts team who did an amazing job on a beautiful day for a run. It was a joy to see the kiddos pushing themselves and cheering on their classmates and schoolmates. Just an awesome day all around and a hugely successful fundraiser! A huge thanks to Christie Miller and Julie Hirsch for leading the charge on the event!

Looking forward, next week begins our MCAP State Testing. Our 5th graders are leading the charge and we're excited for them to show off how much they've learned through their hard work this year. Please make sure that your child brings a fully charged device with them to school each day. They are used for testing. This is a big help and removes a frustrating additional hurdle for teachers on the day of testing. Third and Fourth Grade will be up to the plate for testing the week of May 5th. More information and full schedule available in the letter attached.

A few notes for the days/weeks ahead:

• Please note the approaching deadline for ordering yearbooks! Deadline is Saturday! Information in the PTA section below.
• There is a Celebration of Life planned for Serenity on May 3rd. Details below.
• We are starting to look ahead to Sports Day(s)! Much of the awesomeness of those days comes in partnership with family support. Please consider volunteering (info in the Gym-Newsium section below)

On behalf of Bailee's family, we are passing along the above information about a Celebration of Life to occur on Thursday.

This week, students were able to share memories, remembrances, and well-wishes to Bailee and Serenity, memorialized on their lockers.

SPORTS DAY VOLUNTEERS NEEDED!

Please save the date! We would love for volunteers to help make our Sports Day a success this year. Please mark your calendars and more information will be coming home after spring break.

Lutherville Lab Sports and Fitness Camp-

Get moving and have some fun this summer with Lutherville Lab’s Sports & Fitness Camp! This camp is designed to teach and improve fitness, sport skills and provide an opportunity to enjoy recreational activities. Mr. Bruns will be hosting three weeks of summer camp at Lutherville Lab Elementary School, please see the attachment for more information.

WITH GRATITUDE

The Roarin' Run was a HUGE success and we share our gratitude for all the families who came to volunteer, cheer on the kids and helped with the fundraising which totaled $7,394 = 123% of our goal!

The specials area teachers - Ms. Vincent, Mrs. Tunison, Mr. Weigle, Ms. Welton, Mrs. Powell and Mr. Bruns - are deeply appreciated for their many hours over the course of the day, guiding and encouraging the students. The students themselves were in high spirits and enjoyed achieving or surpassing their running/walking goals. Nice weather didn't hurt either! And last but certainly not least, thank you to Christie Miller & Julie Hirsch, Kara Van Wyngarden and a number of other parents who guided us in the move to this school-wide, soon to be annual event.

Sat 5/3 at 1:35 pm: Deadline to purchase Orioles Tickets for LL Section at 5/4 Game

The deadline to purchase tickets saved for our LL family for the Sun May 4th O's game vs the Royals at 1:35 pm is quickly approaching. Purchase tickets for $18.60 here, with $5 of each ticket coming back to the PTA. Also, as part of Star Wars Weekend, the first 20,000 fans will receive a Gunnar Henderson Star Wars Bobblehead. All fans ages 4 to 14 are invited to Run the Bases following the game. We hope to see you there!
