Here at HSACM, scholars can earn Highschool and College Credit!
โจ๐ซHere is an interview with Brenden B. and the College Credit Plus program! ๐ซโจ
"Tell us about your experience with College Credit Plus?๐๐๐
"When I first did CCP, I was nervous because I never did it before. I made a few mistakes, and it affected my coursework a lot. The whole thing was crazy before I slowly got used to it and felt more comfortable and confident with the system. I just wish to continue doing well enough with the rest of my school years."
And please tell us why you think more students should do the program?
"More students should do it because it has a lot of benefits. Its not just something you do for a piece of candy. Its something that can help you advance in life. I do CCP because I know my future can be easier and brighter as I grow--- and others' future should be too!"
See Mr. Blose for more information on CCP and gaining college credits!

A quick highlight from Mr. Arazโs class this week!
Students worked on a Dream Room Design Project using 5D Planner, where they had the opportunity to use their creativity and design skills to build their own dream rooms.
After completing their designs, students presented their projects to the class and rated one anotherโs work. It was great to see students sharing ideas, giving feedback, and celebrating each otherโs creativity.
๐ Congratulations to Sara B.!
Sara received the highest student rating with an impressive 4.1 out of 5 and won a pair of headphones! ๐ง

Literacy Corner
KARL ROAD LIBRARY RESOURCES!
The library is located at:
5590 Karl Road โ Columbus, OH 43229
According to Elie Moser, a writer for BookRiot.com, here are a few of the best ways to promote literacy at home:
Read! Reading to your child is the best way to promote literacy skills.
If your child is reading independently, then have your child read you a chapter of their book out loud.
Make sure your child is reading independently for a minimum of ten minutes a night.
Model reading behavior you want to see in your child.
Turn on the captions! We all watch online videos, television, and movies. Promote literacy by simply turning on the captions. It will help kids make a connection between the words they are hearing and the words theyโre reading on the screen.
Talk to your kids!Speaking to your children is a great way to increase their vocabulary. Many in education point to a โword gap,โ or a difference in vocabulary between children when they enter school.
Practice storytelling! A simple way to promote literacy at home is to encourage your child to tell you stories. This will help them gain a better understanding of the rhythm of narrative storytelling, which will benefit them as they grow and read more complex fiction. They can tell you real stories about their lives or make up stories and flex their imaginations.
Play word games! For younger kids, these games can be informal, like naming a word that rhymes with another word. You can play these kinds of games anywhere, such as riding in the car or while taking a walk. There are also a lot of fun board games that promote literacy for kids of all ages. Some great ones are Zingo, Quiddler, Bananagrams, and Roryโs Story Cubes.
Make reading easy for your kids! Just like any habit, the fewer barriers to reading, the better. Make sure books are readily available to your child in whatever spaces they spend the most time. Have books in their bedroom, in the living room, in the kitchen, and even in the car. Itโs also helpful to give you child a mixture of familiar and new books.
Encourage all forms of reading! Make sure you donโt inadvertently dismiss certain forms of reading. Graphic novels, comics, audiobooks, and picture books are all valid forms of reading regardless of your childโs age and ability. We know the best way to improve literacy skills is to read more, so families should encourage children to read whatever they like. Favorite picture books long past a childโs โreading levelโ can provide comfort. Graphic novels can keep reluctant readers engaged. Audiobooks are an accessible way to access the same content as a physical book. Trust that your child is reading grade-level material at school and let the at-home reading be truly their choice.

"To prepare students to succeed in college and the world by offering high-quality, college-prep, STEM education."
Concept Schools announced that it has earned Cogniaยฎ Accreditation and STEM Certification Seals, making it the largest public charter school network in the Midwest to receive the honor.
Cognia, a nonprofit organization that provides quality assurance for schools, school districts, and education service providers, nationally recognizes districts that meet rigorous standards focused on productive learning environments, equitable resource allocation, and effective leadership. Earning accreditation from the Cognia Global Accreditation Commission means Concept Schools is recognized across the nation as a service provider that meets Cognia Performance Standards and maintains a commitment to continuous improvement.
As the weather is getting colder, we also wanted to remind you about our building times.
Students are not permitted to enter the building until 7:20.
Family members may not enter the building for 15 minutes before and after dismissal. That is 2 to 2:30 on regular school days.
Clubs and tutoring end at 3:30. Students attending tutoring and clubs will not be dismissed until 3:30.
While we recognize a bus not showing puts an undue burden on families and the school, please understand that depending on the size and number of buses not showing up, students may not be able to leave the building until 3:30 as well.
