View Bus Stop Information for Your Child
You may view your child's transportation information in two ways:
- Parent Portal - Here you will be able to find bus number, stop location, and morning & afternoon pickup times. If you have not yet created a parent portal account or need assistance accessing your account, please contact your child's school for assistance.
- BusQuest App - CCPS now offers another way to stay up to date with route information for your student with the BusQuest app. Parents can access the same information that is in the parent portal (bus number, pick up and drop off location, and times), in addition to receiving alerts about any changes to route pick up and drop off times. The student's primary contact will receive an email from info@ezrouting.com with a link and instructions on how to register for the BusQuest app.

School Counselor Spotlight
Meet Our Counselors
- Tracy Greenway Branch - School Counseling Director
- Tracy Scott - School Counselor
There is an old saying which goes, “start the way you want to finish.” It stresses the importance of getting off to a good start when beginning a new endeavor. This concept is especially true for middle school students. As students transition back to school from summer break, it is crucial to develop effective school habits right away. Below are some things you can do to assist your child in achieving this goal.
- Establish a “school routine” and stick with it as much as possible. This routine should include things like homework/study times, bedtimes. A set homework/study time will ensure that your child understands that home is an extension of the classroom and school is important. Designate 30-45 minutes for school related work at home and stick with it even if your child states he/she does not have homework. If this is the case, have your child read, organize their book bag or read over classroom notes. Finally, a set bedtime is important to make sure your child is well rested and ready to tackle the school day.
- Find out the expectations of your child’s teachers right away by establishing communication with them from the start. Make sure you know about homework policy, tests and quiz schedules as well as classroom management procedures. Make sure you know how to contact your child’s teacher electronically, which is the best way to maintain communication and plan to attend Family Engagement Nights with your child so that they understand you will be involved in their middle school experience.
- Be proactive when it comes to cellphone and electronic device usage during the school week. Have a conversation with your child about when devices should be turned off and how they will be stored. To alleviate the temptation of being on devices late at night, it is recommended that cellphones, tablets and laptops be stored outside your child’s bedroom.
- Remember good attendance is a must for school success. It is easier for your child to keep up rather than trying to catch up. Contact the school right away if you are having trouble getting your child to come to school.
The Counseling Department is here to assist you and your child to make this the best year ever. Feel free to contact us with any concerns or questions.
